I haven’t read the story but I really, really, hope they point the figure at Melanie Phillips and her ilk.

  2. Chris

Why can’t children get single vaccines?

Because, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, there is a measles vaccine in the MMR jab. Problem solved.

  3. Scotty

This is a bullshit win win for the Express. Ban MMR, then follow it up with a measles scare.

They couldn’t advertise the stupidity of their readership more unless they printed a ‘CRUEL CONSPIRACY THEORY ATTACKS ON DIANA’ story

  4. Keith

Isn’t the idiot who published the first lies about MMR and autism now facing being struck off the medical register?

And why, dear Express, do you think that might be?

  5. Winston O'Hoodie

A photograph of every child who dies of measles (and I hope to God there aren’t any), and a photograph of every child who is permanently brain damaged by measles, should be sent to that bitch Melanie Phillips door.

  6. Jollity

I do hope the MMR = Autism guy really is being struck off.

As fo the Gillian McKeith “health hamper”, that must be interesting. And tasting of straw.

  7. Kate

Ah, Gillian McKeith, the woman who likes nothing more than looking at shit. And it’s in the Express, how apt.

  8. Dobbin

    Measels epidemic sweeps britain.
In the same way that the bird flu epidemic has swept britain.

Its a few children with DE reading parents who were stupid enough to believe the papers scaremongering rather than all the intelligent medical opinion & so didnt have their kids given the MMR jab.

  9. Jimbo

Don’t you just love that ‘35p, 10p cheaper than the Daily Mail’ line

  10. Steve

Jimbo – the best bit about that is that it then claims ‘and ten time better’

  11. Scott Cheggs

There are children dying round the world everyday from a whole host of diseases and the DE plumps for this headline!! It’ll only turn out be a lies like with everything else Dirty Des prints!!

    Long live Diana!!!

  12. larry

The 1000 pound hamper includes a 950 pound microscope to look at your own turds

  13. Moggie

The woman advertising the scary poo lady hamper looks a bit unhealthy to me.

  14. Alec

Epidemic like three people or something have died.

  15. Nafs

Well I wonder whose fault that is then???

  16. Chris

They had an article today about the people who won the camper van. A middle class family, naturally

  17. James

Children can’t get the single vaccine because it isn’t government policy to give it out and, thankfully, government policy isn’t dictated by disgusting mass market tabloids like the Express. Measles is rising because of daft un-scientific principles being peddled by the tabloids that are scaring their readership into submission and paranoia.

  18. Mailhater

I always thought that the Daily Mail would have children’s blood on its hands over the disgraceful way they peddled the MMR lies. Now why didn’t the Express think of the anti-Mail line? Surely no love lost there?

Subheadline: “So why can’t children get single vaccines?”

Well, there’s already the triple vaccine, what’s wrong with that?
the link to autism is being/has been discredited, and there’s plenty of triple vaccines out there (e.g. diptheria/polio/tetanus) which nobody has complained about, so if you’re so worried about a measles epidemic then get the MMR!

Also, i think a certain number of people have to die before a disease counts as an epidemic. yes some people have died of measles (more than before the MMR-autism scare) but it’s not enough yet to count as an epidemic. Epidemic of hyperhole sweeps newspaper offices!

  20. hel

Oops, that should say “hyperbole”, not “hyperhole”, of course. Hyper Holes is probably the name of a Dirty Des mag or video!
