  1. Me!

50%? I sometimes wonder if they just pluck these figures out of thin air.

  2. Carl La Fong

Good to see that the Express still uses an obsolete way of measuring the temperature (and tells fibs in doing so, it wasn’t the hottest day ever yesterday).

  3. Killer Whale

I thought inflation was a bad thing. Presumably PETROL PRICES TO RISE BY 50% would get equally positive treatment buy the Express.

  4. Paul

Most people will only be able to afford camper vans at this rate.

    50% is bollocks anyway!

  5. Carl La Fong

About timethe Express ran one of their campaigns about this “cruel” increase in house prices. What ya going to do about it, Gordon?

  6. Adrian

Health through your hand sound a bit… wrong to me somehow…

  7. Moggie

I suppose “hottest day since 2003″ just didn’t sound superlative enough.

“New secrets of reflexology”: that’ll be a brief article saying “it’s a right load of bollocks”, will it?

  8. Jollity

Moggie – you’re right, I’m sure I remember it being this hot in 2003, when I would go outside and still think I needed to open a window. It’s damn hot, but not the hottest ever (besides, I’ll bet it was pretty hot when there were volcanoes and dinosaurs about, and if you’re going to say “ever”, you have to take those days into account too)

Also, house prices = BORING BORING BORING.

  9. Dobbin

This is in spite of the fact that last week the new homesellers pack was going to cause a housing price slump?

  10. Andy

Good to see they found space for a blonde female (I assume) on the cover.

And hoo-bleeding-rah. House prices set to rise even more. Millions more kept off the property ladder, rents to rise…I suppose that’s what this rag means by “real values”. Pah.

    Middle east crisis? What crisis?

  11. matthew6476

Its not until the roads start to melt!! This is only warm!!!

  12. Scotty

I think this sums up DE / DM attitudes, why can’t Melanie write an article like this :

  13. Moggie

Roads melting and rails buckling: yeah, it’s not really extreme weather without traffic chaos (well, more chaos than usual).

  14. Zac

That was a beautiful piece of literature Scott. An alternative renewable source of energy would be to burn those of the lower classes and all of their possessions. That should help house prices.

  15. IanC

So in Express land house prices rising is a good thing…..

  16. Paul Worthington

Matthew”6476″, look at what you have done.

Clearly someone from the mail reads these message boards!

  17. Olly

So in Express land house prices rising is a good thing…..

Yes, since they’ve all lived in the same house since 1955 and enjoy watching the value accrue so that the tax man can steal it when they die and none of the riff-raff can afford to move in next to them. Of course since they already own a house they have to oppose the building of new homes since everyone else must be condemned to rent at these ridiculous prices.
