Of course, the DM and it moronic bunch of right-wing, self righteous, moaning imbecilic readers could have done a much better job of things couldn’t they ?!

If there is negativity to be spouted, you can always rely on the DM !

Oh but hang on, doesn’t the French lady look lovely in her dress?

  2. Mr Mordon

Useless twats (and im not talking about the Mail here)

  3. Chris

Why did they have to ruin a perfectly good picture of Carla by putting a big red thing with LITTLEJOHN written in it on her head?

  4. Original Paul

Ooooooh! it’s a Littlejohn spring bonnet for Carla.

  5. iain

wow, things dont run smoothly on day one. of course that never happens anywhere else, things always work perfectly the first time

  6. Giddy

Why people have this obsession with using Heathrow and BA, I do not understand. Some of those nasty foreign airlines such as Emirates do a much better job and fly to B’ham and Manchester. You might have to fly with some brown people, but that’s a small price to pay.

  7. Sarah

I tend to agree with the mail here, how on earth did Heathrow manage to get so bad lol.

  8. Dave

‘TERMINAL DISGRACE’ yet another headline summing up the DM in a nutshell.Irony is truly lost on it.

  9. TB

Why is Heathrow so bad? Partly because the Conservatives ruled out the possibility of a second runway at Gatwick (arguably a much better situated airport than Heathrow) which could have absorbed a lot of the increase in air travel, and also because campaigners – many the sort of people who love the DM – have ensured that each new development at Heathrow has been delivered years after it was needed.

The planning application for T5 was lodged in Feb 1992; a four year inquiry 1995-9; then government finally gave permission for it in November 2001. I suspect that in most of the countries the DM holds up to us as examples, they just decide to do these things and get on with them. Of course if our government did, the DM would foam at the mouth with words and phrases like “dictatorship” “riding roughshod”, “not listening to the people” ….

  10. hel

the phrase “luggage check-ins axed” makes me imagine someone chopping up the check-in desk with an axe.

  11. Al Jardine

The DM always makes me imagine myself weilding an axe !

    Especially that git Littlejohn.

Check out the simpering comments from the DM readers on the Littlejohn page of the DM website.. “Oh if only you ran the government etc”

    Heaven forbid !

  12. Matt Hurst

Well they’ve found perfect wank fodder for Middle England in Carla Bruni.

  13. Captain Jesus

Today the Daily Mail cover (as many newspapers do) the murder of Sophie Lancaster and the near-fatal assault on her boyfriend.

“Although she and Mr Maltby realised their appearance could sometimes get them into trouble – he had been attacked previously – they refused to alter their image because of the ignorance of others.”

I mention this because only a few weeks ago Richard Littlejohn was covering the lifestyle of the Goth who kept his girlfriend on a dog lead. Referring to the lady in question’s appearance, Littlejohn advocated killing her with a stick.

I just wondered exactly where the Daily Mail stand on the treatment of Goths. Treat them with the same respect that you would treat others or kill them with sticks?

It’s also worth reading Anne Diamond’s review of violent video games on the Mail’s webshite. Pure comedy gold.

“It’s also worth reading Anne Diamond’s review of violent video games on the Mail’s webshite. Pure comedy gold.”

Any chance of a link to that, there’s no way I’m trawling through their webshite to find it, my poor brain may just explode.

  15. Steven

    Jesus, you’ve got something there.

The Mail act all outraged when a Goth is murdered or when Stephen Lawrence was killed, yet spout hatred towards immigrants and advocate killing Goths. Where do they think people get their ideas from?

And Anne Diamond reviewing games? Where the fuck do they come up with this? Just because she used to poorly present a bad TV show years ago, does that make her any authority on critically evaluating something she has no knowledge of?

It’s exactly the same as the ignorant and arrogant journos who seem to think they could run something as massive a T5 perfectly on their first day. What the fuck is it about journalists that make them feel like modern day polymaths and savants? I’m sure Littlecock imagines himself as the Plato of our age.

  16. Steven

Also fully expect Bruni to become the new Middle-England wank fodder and be featured ad-nauseum in the press for years to come in the space usually reserved for St. Diana. I bet they’re praying she gets killed in an accident…

  17. Al Jardine

    ….. Steven, don’t go there ! I can see it now….”La princesse de peuplades” . . Nooooooooooooooooooooo !

  18. dabe

I’ve seen loads of ladies in red before, she’s definitely not the first. Shit journalism.

  19. Ed

    Scandal in private sector! Blame…society?

  20. BenM

Ok, I know this is sexist but…

Why oh why oh why oh why can’t our “first ladies” (or PM wives) look like that?!!!

What have we Brits had recently?

Sarah Brown, Cherie Blair, Norma Major, Denis Thatcher…

I think Denis is the hottest in that list!

  21. Steven

To be fair, would you let Gordon Brown or Tony Blair slip you a length? And the Tories only ever marry their cousins.

I’m sure as soon as we get handsome politicians (which as someone famous I think once said, Politics is Rock and Roll for ugly people) our first ladies will follow suit.

  22. CTerry

Check out the Ukrainian PM, Yulia Tymoshenko…. fit……

Also check out Green Party for London mayoral candidate, Sian Berry, as cute as a fucking button.

What I don’t get is the lack of fit royals. There’s Zara-Phillips…. and she doesn’t get nearly as much coverage as I’d like. Now Princess Madeleine of Sweden, there’s a woman! And a woman who’s always in the Swedish press….

    Yes I am sad.

  23. Matt Hurst

Sarkozy isn’t a stunner really, Cameron’s wife is motherly looking.

  24. Harry

I love the term ‘wank fodder’ because, though it conjures an image, I’m not sure what that image is. Brilliant stuff.

  25. Leo

Whilst it may been quite a miserable experience for passengers yesterday at T5, compared to some other airport/terminal launches, it could have been a lot worse.

BA certainly made mistakes in not managing expectations and its PR handling of the disruption was woeful, but transferring an airline operation to a new terminal is never easy and it will take a few weeks to bed down.

  26. Sully

Queues and lost baggage. The most important issue in the world today. Welcome to Mailand everybody (though to be fair the amount of the time the BBC dedicated on tonights news was also ridiculous)

  27. NJH

Does the tabloid’s fascination with Bruni mean they’re all for us having closer links with Europe?

  28. Christopher

Re: The Anne Diamond video games ‘review’…

Check out what Photoshop Disasters (which I only just discovered yesterday) points out about the Daily Mail’s love of manipulating photographs:

    http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com/2008/03/daily-fail-violent-vids-upsetting-our.html

If you look back through the Photoshop Disasters site, there’s another couple of spectacularly badly photoshopped images published by the Daily Mail.

Clearly they’re not even content with just making up stories nowadays — they have to edit photographs too…

  29. Captain Jesus

Christopher – Blimey, I never noticed noticed that the first time around. Comedy Gold just got upgraded to…er…Comedy Diamond I suppose.

Still, what do you expect from the most neophobic newspaper since Luddite Monthly?

  30. Becka

BA did seem to have a major mess up on the first day, and the effects are still being felt pretty heavily.

  31. Chas

How come that none of the mail’s BRILLIANT journalists have not revealed that Brown and Darling are responsible for this fiasco.
someone will be losing their honary membership of the Tory party over this.

  32. Antigherkin

If only BA had let their staff wear crucifixes, T5 could all have gone so smoothly. See how God wreaks his vengeance.

  33. GodHimself

Here’s the Anne Diamond link. check out the hilariously shit photoshopped photo as well:

  34. Becka

I noticed in that Anne Diamond link she is holding the game Dead Rising, thats the only game I have ever really played in the last few years and its great! Maybe i’m playing it wrong but it hasen’t made me want to go out and shoot people, is there a code you need to put in to get a level which tells you to do this?
