Because he’s completed his suspension and he’s returning to his job of hosting TV shows, that’s why. Now leave it – he’s not getting sacked, no matter how much you whine.
The rich, rich irony of the Tories excoriating a Labour Minister for making a passing reference – in reply to a leading question that mentioned the term “green shoots of recovery” – to a phrase which is notorious for having been coined by a notoriously incompetent Tory Chancellor (Norman Lamont) presiding over the last major recession in the early 90s is quite breathtaking.
I don’t get why she apologised. She may have been refering to longer term trends not what is happeneing today. The media (not just the Mail) are so short-termist.
It was rather stupid of a Labour Minister to use that word when it has such a bad history. And the word “green shoots” annoys me, it sounds like a B Movie staring Jennifer Aniston. As for Rossy, I hope he comes back and says every offensive thing under the sun.
One of the Mail’s storys inside the paper has been the girl who was beaten up for being English which is of course terrible. But they seem to take not supporting English football as something paramount to a hate crime.
1) The BBC didn’t pick him to host the BAFTAs, the BAFTA committee did, the BBC just broadcast it, not produce it.
2) He was contracted for it well before the Sachs affair, and as said before, the BAFTAs are NOT a BBC production
3) He has served his (witch hunt of a) suspension, so what’s the issue?
I loathe Ross and won’t watch ANYTHING in which he’s involved. This was the case BEFORE the ‘incident’ too. It’s very easy to avoid the talentless bore if you try.
Why is Ross doing the BAFTAs? Maybe because he’s a TV presenter and this is his job and that he’s also served out his suspension? If he wasn’t doing it, they’d complain that he’s not doing his job properly and guess who’s paying for it?
I posted this on the other thread by accident: BTW – I don’t follow celebs, but I do have an interest in photograph.
Has anybody seen the Amy Winehouse story the Daily Mail are covering – the photo is clearly a fake. She has no shadow, there is yellow on here elbow which is illogical with the yellow being cast.
It looks more like she is doing a yoga position or something & somebody has superimposed the photo on the background. Plus, if a famous person is crawling around the streets on their hands & knees – why is nobody looking at her?
Ex-soldier – Couldn’t see your comment so you might be right. The thing that gets me with the whole online mail stories is not that people have a different opinion from mine (even if the opinion is a bit OTT and melodramatic – normally invloving the words ‘disgusting’ and ‘disgraceful’ plus the usual mail catchphrases of PC gone mad etc etc) but that they rate each other’s comments with a little arrow. You can tell who’s dared to disagree with the herd mentality by looking at the red arrows amongst the sea of green arrows. Why can’t they just accept that people don’t always agree and it doesn’t make them bad for doing so. I’d like to think the majority of people on here although disagreeing with what many mail readers say, at least respect their right to say it. The whole rating system is stupid, and if i may be so bold, its a disgrace and its disgusting!

The thing with the comment rating thing is that occassionally you read something so stupid and so horrible that you just go “ewwwww” and remind yourself that there are loons on the internet and it’s unfair to judge Daily Mail readers on this guys opinion. This rating system breaks your heart and tests your faith in people when it presents you with 672 green arrows.
This person actually saw here there – she’s been marked down!
I disagree entirely with the way the tabloids are portraying Amy. We were at the resort last week and whilst Amy was flamboyant I didn’t see any real sign of her upsetting guests or going back to her ’shambolic’ lifestyle. She was certainly enjoying her holiday, as would any one of her age. A number of guests would be topless at the resort; it certainly didn’t seem discouraged. Enough of this – let her be….

This person is imaging what Amy is like – she has plus 17!:
THIS ISN’T A REHAB CLINIC, el, and the people serving drinks are waiters and waitresses, not psychiatric nurses!!
People save up for ages to go there for a pleasant holiday and trust me, she will be ruining it for many people now that she’s out of control again.
And Debs, USA, it is one thing being on the beach topless, or being in or lying around the pool (which is the way things work in this hotel) and entirely another to be ‘wandering around topless’. VERY different indeed! I can just imagine that she was going up to the pavilion bar or the cafe or the restaurant at lunchtime and not bothering to cover up. That IS NOT the way people behave in this hotel, and it would be inappopropriate to virtually everyone and probably offensive to many.

ex-soldier: you might be interested in http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com, they have plenty of fake photos from the mail and you can ask them to add that one to their collection.
Was the crawling girl supposed to be Miss Winehouse or an artistic reconstruction? I suppose it might have been her, but it must take quite a bit of work to photograph Amy from any angle without getting any of her tats.
If I was on holiday and wanted to take a picture of a celeb in a compromising position, I’d make sure I got his/her face in shot, otherwise it could be anybody.

Ahhh – 50% off family meals. Bugger… I don’t have children, so I cannot benefit from that one.
Win a Sony laptop – to use for trolling on PC liberal left loony namby pamby websites.
Heaven forbid that someone should attempt to hint at any kind of optimism regarding the recession. Clearly that does not fit in with the DM’s agenda.

Because he’s a reasonably witty and affable TV presenter with long experience of dealing with celebrity names in various capacities?
This gun crime is getting out of hand!

I don’t much care for Ross either. However, the whole Sachs affair and the DM witch hunt that went with it was way OTT.
I don’t see much problem in what this woman said, isn’t the idea of government to express short termism concern with long term plans and ideas.
She was quite clearly talking about the future, in which she said and I quote “but it depends how they grow”.
Pathetic to attack the government on this, as for Ross HAR HAR HAR the BBC shows they have a backbone

£5 off Moss Bros? MOSS BROS!?
Also – attacking BBC, yet giving away free BBC DVDs.

And probably is.
“A number of guests are said to have asked for a transfer to a different resort.”
Classic Mail tactic this, the uncredited quote “are said” means they made it up.
