What kind of monsters can give their grandchildren away?

  2. Rob

    Slightly homophobic?

  3. Sarah T

Another balanced, calm, thought-provoking article from the master of subtlety, I see.

Will he mention cottaging in the article? Is water wet?

  4. aljardi

I got this whole foster parent thing wrong.

I was under the impression that the two children concerned had been put into the care of a gay couple. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

Having read the Daily Mail’s report on this article and the subsequent somewhat mildly irate comments on their website, I now gather that these children were put in the care of Charles Manson and his “family.”

  5. Original Paul

    Right up Littlejohns street!

  6. Lily

The same ones that are there to protect children from an unstable life? I though we’d already established that the mum’s a heroin addict and the grandparents are financially screwed. I’m pretty sure none of this would even be news if they had been placed with a straight couple.

Do the grandparents want their granchildren to go through the fostering and care home system instead? Or go to a lesbian couple, maybe?

(Only commenting here because commenting on the DM’s website makes me irritationally angry.)

  7. MatthewS

I think we all know who he means: ZANU LIAR STALIN HITLER MAO BOTTLER COMMIE MC BROON and his army of PC BRIGADE, DO GOODER, LESBIAN, MUSLIM, JOHNATHON ROSS LOVING, ASYLUM SEEKING, MOTORIST OPPRESSING demons, who will send everyone to the gulags of course!

  8. Erebus

I couldn’t get any opposing views onto the forum. So I have tried under a different name to see if I can post the most random, reactionary post possible. Reading some of the comments maybe others are trying the same:)
I have tried with Jen Uwine, Diss, not sublte enough even for the mail. My new one is Pat Exley, (ex-pat) Deal.

  9. Lith

What kind of monsters write such homophobic rubbish in the Mail? asks the MailWatch community

  10. Goodbyemrsaddam

The Daily Mailers are having a field day with this one, it’s like bear baiting, only with more aggressive and dangerous animals.

  11. Erebus

I am loving the confusion on the Mail website about the Total strike. Hatred of “bloody foriegners” vs support for workers and unions. Which one will win out? How many brains will explode? It is particularly amusing reading ex-pats writing about bloody foriegners unaware of the irony.

  12. Mail Man

Typical dredgings of the bottom of the barrel.

Nasty scum at work, nothing more.

  13. Kiz

Littledick’s unbelievable today. “What kind of monsters steal children from their grandparents to give to two gay men?” Perhaps council experts who know this kind of thing inside out and could see that the gay men were more loving and caring than the grandperents? He may as well have gone the whole hog and said “What kind of monsters steal children from their grandparents to give to two poofs?” The Mail was very critical of the way the Baby P case was handled, so you’d think that they’d fully support there measures taken by council. But then again, if they were given to a white, middle class, middle-age right wing couple instead of gay men, they wouldn’t have kicked up this storm in a teacup at all.

BTW, the kids wern’t ’stolen’ from their parents, instead, the council intervened like it was supposed to and saved 2 kids who were under threat from their drug-addict parents. If they hadn’t, then they’d have bitched and moaned about how the taxpayer is funding the council who isn’t doing its job properly.

  14. Sarah

Er I don’t know littejohn a human? Nice little sentence there implying that the gay men ’stole’ the children from their grandparents when it was nothing of the sort. He probably nearly fainted in ecstacy about being able to write something about gay people. He actually tries to make out that these children were given to a gay couple on some sort of equal opportunities legislation. The Mail don’t give a shit about these children all they care about is their own agenda.

It’ll be interesting to see how they handle the strikes. Don’t think any of the workers are being racist but lets hope it doesn’t lead to racism. Will the Mail cover it like the Times and talk about the foreign contracts (the issue the workers are protesting about) or will they focus on the migrants? Hmmm. I don’t have to guess they’re already put the headline as “Stop Stealing our Jobs” on the story. What is good is that the BNP guy got shouted down when somebody wanted him to get up and speak. The BNP aren’t very right wing at all are they? They’re pretty socialist if you ask me.

  15. Cillian

Where were the grandparents when the mother was incapable of taking care of th children? Why were they unable to protect the children then? Why did the grandparents allow the council to get involved anyways? The family could have come to arrangements among themselves, and nothing would have happened. They could applied for shared parental responsibility. They could have intervened and did nothing. Forcibly taking children away is never good. Where were the grandparents when concern was raised about the children?

  16. Sarah

Cillian the grandparents have been fighting in the courts for two years to get the kids back. They’ve done nothing wrong. I’m sure they love their grandchildren as much as anybody else. (though I can’t agree to their objections that their grandchildren go to a gay couple)

  17. Steve

Can’t add anything to those already regarding the Bigot and his warped world view. On their main story i assume it is the Mail who are defining the term ‘ladette’. I love the assumption that crime should only be committed by men that is buried within that headline.

  18. Jason

    to quote Littlecock

“Meanwhile, in Edinburgh, a five-year-old boy and his four-year-old sister are snatched from their grandparents and given to a gay couple and there’s barely a peep outside the pages of the Daily Mail.

No police appeals, no Panorama special, no public outcry.

Why? Because they’ve been taken by social workers, not paedophiles. So that’s all right, then. ”

    LMAO

  19. aljardi

The reason no one has heard a peep outside the pages of the Daily Mail, is because only the Daily Mail is a sh#t filled swamp of right wing, narrow minded, bigotted filth.

  20. Jason

Do you think he’s trying to say that its better for children to be taken by paedophiles than social workers?

or do you just think it was his way of getting paedohiles into a story about gay’s? (after all in Mail land these are the same thing)

  21. Dexter

I noticed Homosexual Role Model Littlejohn’s deliberate inclusion of that word “paedophile” too. It’s unbelievably spiteful and cynical – he knows full well the link made by right-wing bigots and morons between homosexuality and paedophilia. And he’s deliberately exploiting that.

In a sense, he’s exploiting them, and they’re too thick/outraged/hate-filled to realise it.

  22. Dexter

Also notice how each day this has been on their front page, they’ve made a point of referring to the children being given to “gay men”…. not a gay couple….. Gay. Men.

The weight carried by those two words to your average Daily Mail reader shouldn’t be underestimated.

Gay couple would have somehow validated gay relationships.

I’m quite sure that bit of subtlety probably goes right over the heads of most Mail readers’ – all they do is absorb the words without thinking and feel the hate.

    (FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL THE HATE!!!)

  23. Miss Grace

According to posters on mumsnet the story was extensively covered on TV & radio yesterday – five live, daytime chat shows etc – in a much more accurate and balanced way (TV and radio requiring more regulation than newspapers who can print what they like) – so RL is bullshitting…surprise!

  24. Dexter

Also, is it me or does Homosexual Role Model Richard Littlejohn look a bit like 1980’s camp homosexualist Duncan Norville in his photo?

    Altogether now…… “ooooooh, chase me!”

  25. aljardi

Merk, as it is the year of the PC Brigade, any chance of some PC Brigade badges? :)

Merk: funny you should mention that – I’ve been pricing up the stuff this week. I’ll keep you all informed.

  26. Erebus

Not sure if i’m pleased or upset my post didn’t get on to the Mail website. It was really rabid, my aim being to throw in as many buzzwords as possible, not make any sense and get a positive response. I did manage to get in a few digs about the S(ocial) S(ervices) equating them to the Nazis and how anyone could support the Nazis?

  27. Kiz

It’s obvious that Littlecock is trying to say it is better to be adopted by paedophiles then gay men. In his warped mind, sexual abuse is better than a loving upbringing by a gay couple.

Also, as aljardi said, is it any wonder why this apparent story hasn’t been heard outside of the DM? Is it because the Hate Mail is a bigoted pile of horse shit? Or could it perhaps be a homophobic lie maybe?

  28. Sarah

We should have a competition. All of us should go to the Mail sight, post a comment and if they’re published have a competition to see who gets the most red arrows.

  29. aljardi

Sarah, I got 138 red arrows once. I was really proud of myself!

  30. Steven

Fury at foreign construction workers stealing our jobs during recession!

Meanwhile, pick your classic ‘Auf Wiedersien Pet’ DVD in tomorrow’s Mail!

Totally the same as what happened in the 80s, and nobody complained then, and I bet none of the ‘ex-pats’ working in construction in Dubai and Malaga see any irony in their hate filled posts o the DM website either.

Basically this story is ‘one rule for us and another for everyone else’ which when applied to homosexuality sums up the adoption story too. ‘Fury as white heterosexual Christian males have to live by exactly same rules as everyone else!’

  31. Tom

I used to be skeptical about the need to have laws against inciting hatred of minority groups.

Now I understand why we need such laws.

  32. Steven

Tom – There’s a classic story on the DM website about a Polish street sweeper who became a sensation on Youtube by dancing as he cleaned London streets quitting the country due to death threats from right-wingers.

Now I wonder who could be responsible for creating such a climate of hatred against Polish workers…

  33. Steven

Sorry for the double post, but there’s also a brilliant comment on a story about a vigilante group wielding machettes in a posh village in order to ‘combat rising crime’, and the comment supports their actions and states ’someday hopefully Tony Blair will be brought to trial for what he has done to this country’ Fabulous!

  34. ExPc

Please Merk. Can we have the numbers back?

Merk: You mean the comment numbers? I don’t see why not, I’ll do some tweaking this weekend.

  35. Kiz

“There’s also a brilliant comment on a story about a vigilante group wielding machettes in a posh village in order to ‘combat rising crime’, and the comment supports their actions and states ’someday hopefully Tony Blair will be brought to trial for what he has done to this country’

It just shows how derranged these Mail readers are. By what he (Blair) has done to this country, does this guy mean turning around the mess that was created by the Tories and making this country a nicer place to live in? The thing about this guy is if this vigilante group was made up of immigrants, left-wingers, gay people or Labour supporters, he’d have hated them and everything they stood for.

God, these people make me sick.

  36. ally

dont i hate you left wing scum, time for you to realise your end is nigh

  37. Lily

I’ve got 5 thumbs UP. Seeing as only a couple of days ago I achieved some 1200 or so thumbs down, I don’t know what’s happened.

Love the littleJohn article. Highbrow, intelligent stuff in there. Especially liked the comments about, say, the Stasi. And how this place has suddenly become a Marxist state.

I can’t even read their articles on immigration anymore. Especially when they’re littered with ex-pat commenters. It’s fine to live abroad in Menorca, but not to come to the UK to work.

  38. Keef

What kind of columnist would discard easily accessible facts about adoption legislation if they don’t square with his own opinion?

  39. Dexter

One with some deep buried “issues”, perhaps?

  40. Captain Jesus

Future generations will look back on us with shame and wonder at how we could have suffered Richard Littlejohn to live.

  41. Adrian

It’s OK, we’ll change the records so that people think that Littlejohn was actually a cute little kitten rather than a bigoted human cunt.

  42. Kiz

It’s nice to see you’ll add the comment numbers Merk. If possible, when you add them, could you also please put in the time the comment was posted like it used to? It’s nice seing what day it was added, but the time it was added would also be an added bonus. So please could you put them in as well?

  43. pope

The lack of numbers is a clear sign of what has happened to this country under Labour!!!

Littlejohn IS the ‘voice of london’ guy in V for Vendetta. it just clicked with me. Someday he may suffer the same fate, and I won’t be weeping.

  44. aljardi

    @pope

Yes! Robbed of the numbers by the EUSSR!!!!

  45. Sarah

It was all Zanumerks fault! This socialist monster has allowed this website to be deprived of the numbers it needs. We should start a Mailwatch type crusade against him. Get out your bold red.

  46. hel

the mail is about as far away from being a balanced and impartial news source as it’s possible to get.
why has nobody else been outraged by the gay adoption story? probably because the rest of the country has no problem with gay people adopting. maybe the mail doesn’t speak for the majority as much as it says it does!

  47. Steven

Hel – You have a great point there in that when even the Murdoch press, possibly the most populist outlets in the country, don’t pick it up that’s a sure sign the public aren’t with this one.

Which is great when you think about it and shows how far we’ve come in such a short time since the Sun itself ran a headline 10 years ago about Blair lowering the gay age of consent to 16 as a ‘paedophile’s charter’.

Now gays adopting kids is seen as passe even by mad Murdoch.

  48. Zagrebo

    >Hel – You have a great point there in that when even the Murdoch press, possibly the most populist outlets in the country, don’t pick it up that’s a sure sign the public aren’t with this one.

I agree. The Mail seem to really want to start a ball rolling over this gay adoption thing but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. There was some rag I spotted in the supermarket the other day called “The People” which I’ve never heard of before that was running it as a front story with the two babies with pixellated faces and “please save us from being bummed by gays, Grandpa” or some other such bullshit as the headline but that’s it. The Express and the Sun don’t seem to be interested and, as has been pointed out, if the Sun aren’t running it it’s because they suspect it won’t go down well with the public. Having said that, it might be the fact that the family the children are being moved from is genuinely horrendous and the tabloids are cautious about running the story critically in case they end up with egg on their face.

  49. Steven

That’s a good point, I’m sure they don’t want to be seen supporting a scumbag family in case they turn into another Karen Matthews style embarrassment for them. By its immense history of lawsuits and history revision though, we can safely say the Mail doesn’t give a shit.

The People has been around for ages and is the Mirror’s competitor to the News of the World allowing them to be just as trashy without compromising the ‘integrity’ (ha!) of their Mirror brand that has its own (slightly less trashy) Sunday edition, but yes, it’s just above Daily Sport levels of quality.

  50. Captain Jesus

    @Zagrebo

That’s your first encounter with The People? Blimey, you’re lucky to have made it this far in life without becoming aware of Britain’s grimiest shitrag. If you ever see anyone purchasing a copy, it’s your duty to euthanase them on the spot.

  51. TomRollock

Subeditor Fail! “‘Scourge of the Laddette’ Thugs” means enemy of the ladette thugs, not invasion or plague or curse. Tits.

  52. David

I should tell you that I tried to comment on this article but it never appeared on the Mail website…. funny that.

  53. Pet Snakes

Love your writing style and the design of your blog, its very original! Well done, look forward to reading more.
