Well I’ve been saying that on their ‘Have Your Say’ boards for about a year now…

  2. Sarah

Mandy is a prick. For starters, I’d say migrants are capable of doing ANY job including proffessional ones. Patronising sod. This isn’t the point the Express is trying to make however.

So nothing about the IRA then? Nothing stops the Express foreigner bashing. They must have spun the Daily Express wheel of front page headlines. Choices include: Foreigners, Diana, Health Story, Celebrity bashing, Car Advert.

  3. Dai

A first for the Express – usually the headline is unsupported by the body of the story, here the headline is directly shown up as an inaccurate sensationalisation by the subhead!

    What’s next, the self-contradicting headline?

Encouraging gambling in the top corner i see.

    Express Exclusive. NO NEWS AGAIN

  6. Steven

The thing about Mandelson’s comments are that they’re entirely true. We have shortages in skilled jobs like nursing so foreigners do them. We also have shortages in unskilled labour as many would rather be on the dole than work picking fruit, so foreigners do them.

Back in my old home town there’s an absolutely horrible factory called Express Gifts, a huge, windowless monolith of soul crushing, minimum wage despair (http://www.accringtonweb.com/gallery/showfull.php?photo=1245)

Since it started up they’d never once had full employment simply because people only would work there when forced to by the job centre, and I know first hand, not from some patronising elitism like the Express assumes. Since the EU allowed free transfer of labour it’s had full employment for the first time ever as a huge amount of Poles have flocked to the town.

I can understand people not wanting to work there as it is absolute hell (I managed 1 day before quitting one summer while off college) but to then cry about foreigners ’stealing’ those jobs is disgraceful and an outright lie.

The main headline is bollocks, the sub is a statement of the bleeding obvious, in all a waste of paper and ink.

Steven, is that the factory where they produce the free shit given away fdaily by the Express? A soul-destroying job indeed.

Why not photoshop a picture of Mandelson burning a Union Flag with the headline “Mandy: I hate Britain”? Only a matter of time.

  9. Mail Man

    Yeah right.

    It’s completely black & white.

Mandy said ALL Britons don’t want jobs and foreigners only do the jobs Brits won’t do.

Sure that’s exactly what he said and how he said it.

Do they honestly expect anyone to believe that sh!te?

Perhaps you night care to add that whilst buring a row of Union flags Mandy could also be seen to be defecating (blurred pic, obviously) on a pic of the Royal family
(or just the Queen/Queen mum)…….as he gleefully strangles an Andrex puppy, surrounded by several already strangled cute animals?

Well Mail Man, this being the Express, I really think the pic should be of Diana cradling Madeleine McCann. And if Mandelson could be shown performing an act of fellatio on Abu Hamza at the same time, so much the better.

Tonight on Mastermind we have Mr. P. Mandelson from Westminster, specialist subject: The Bloody Obvious.

Of course, the fact that it’s a world class buffoon and infamous liar who’s finally said it will sadly play straight into the hands of the bastards at Express Towers.

  13. DBC

I wonder if the Express will be reporting that Commons Committee today where Gerry McCann really laid into certain newspapers about their coverage of his daughter’s disappearance? I think not.

I was in a shop in Colchester this morning and the man in front of me bought the Express – he queued up for 5 mins to buy only the Express! He was about 30, smart(ish) casual dress, normal looking. The kind of bloke you’d happily talk to in a pub (until you found out he was an Express reader). I wonder if he harbours extreme anti-immigrant views under that pleasant exterior, or perhaps he is ever-hopeful for a cure for cancer. Whatever, it did rather surprise me. I don’t suppose he only gets it for the sport, as that’s crap as well!

kenromford: even odder is that at my local takeaway, the Chinese owners always have copies of the Express lying around so their customers can read about bloody immigrants while one of the aforesaid cooks them some foreign food. Why would they buy a shit rag which continually slags them off and then leave it lying around to brainwash unsuspecting customers? “Bloody foreigns, coming here . . . oh yes, I will have some chow mein with that, thanks, Wei Ling.”
