Who knows but I’m pretty sure you’re going to tell me it is. Back of Ross. At least he has a sense of humour.

  2. Sarah T

Where are they getting the ‘whining’ part from? Did they have a look at his Twitter page to see that he wrote something like ‘didn’t win. Oh well.’

It’s not really a ’snub’ though, is it. He wasn’t the only person to not win. The Mail want to use shit like this as an excuse to drag that fucking story up again/kick Jonathan Ross and the BBC a bit more/use it as ‘proof’ that his contemporaries in the biz don’t like him much. Sigh.

  3. Uponnothing

The Mail has a new scare story.

I guess the reason they have phrased the headline as a question is that they know the answer is ‘no’.

  4. Russell

The Metro today were pretty much slagging him off too.

  5. Dai

    YES. It is.

The question they meant to ask was “is the human-transferrable H1N1 form of Swine Flu in already in Britain?”

  6. Dave

Yes – Gordon’s been overseeing an operation involving the smuggling of petri dishes by the tonne to infect this once great country and bring down house prices…..

  7. Dave

Great Garden Giveway – seems a bit frivolou given that we’re all going to be wiped out by swine flu (and if not that then by bird flu, NooLabour, PC Gone Mad, one-legged bereavement counsellors, etc)

  8. Original Paul

One of these days they will have some real news to report, will they know what to do?

  9. Rob

Oh dear. A slow news weekend and a handful of deaths in Mexico from a mystery virus and we’re all going to die.

Presumably mentioning that most of those affected made a full recovery and most of the cases outside of mexico suffered little more than a mild cold would be far too sane.

  10. Tony

    Sanity, from a tabloid?

The fact that it only managed to kill 100 people in a country with a population of 110 million – in one of the most densely populated cities in the world as well – says something about how dangerous it is.

Just filled in a questionnaire on this, I was tempted to give the Media some justification as I hadn’t seen the hype over this, and knowing what actually was going on it seemed quite reserved.

I ticked over hyped anyhow and look they prove me right.

  12. Mail Man

They must be soiling themselves with excitement at the DM & DE.

    A flu pandemic.

Cue their ridiculous ‘end of days’ b*llocks.

God’s angry with us for straying from the ignorant 1950s-British tory Empire timewarp, don’t you know?

  13. Mr Mordon

great combination of picture & headline!

  14. Sarah T

I found out that Ross’ ‘whining’ was his declaration that critics are ‘out to get’ him. I don’t see how they can report that and call him a whiner – the article is pointless and based around them being out to get him, fer chrissakes.

  15. Antigherkin

Do they object to him because his wife has pink hair and large breasts? Clearly not their sort of people.

  16. James M

    Dream headline for the Mail:

ROSS ‘CAUSE OF SWINE FLU’, SAY EXPERTS

  17. Pope

How many pictures of Ross on his own, without his wife’s generous cleavage, did they have that they rejected?

  18. MatthewS

Does they even know how many hundreds of thousands die of normal flu each year?! It is worrying, but only because its a new strain that we dont have immunity to, the mortality rate relative to exposure has seemed to be quite low to me.

I work in a bar and the other night we had big crowd in, some of whom were – yep – wearing dust masks. I leant over the bar and asked them what it was in aid of and one of them gave me a curt “swine flu!” My thoughts must have showed on my face because she next said ‘fuck you man, I hope YOU get swine flu!’

After that I made a point of theatrically coughing whenever I served them.

Funny thing – they didn’t stay very long. *shrug*
