Britain elects fascists, and THIS is the front page? Petrol, cleavage, OK Magazine and a banner that while on politics is devoid of any mention of the elections?
On the day that labour is comprehensively thrashed, the DE comes up with this purely hypothetical shit? Even the Times ran a headline speculating how badly labour did (which is great news since I would never vote labour)
Although they fail to explain why petrol prices are increasing (a weaker dollar and optimism about the recovery of demand) they just go for the ‘you’re fucked’ approach.
I’m suprised the DE aren’t going on about the election results when their pals the Tories and the BNP both did so well. I suppose scare stories and perving over middle-aged women are the choice of the day.
However, I do have to agree with the Express on one thing-I really hope petrol doesn’t hit £1.15 a litre. I thought that the petrol crisis was history and have enjoyed paying low prices every time I fill up and I hope it doesn’t hit the astronomical prices it did last summer.
Some people are saying that the Labour party might disappear in the same way that the Liberal party did after the first world war, and The Express is worrying us with petrol prices?
To sum up: I’m glad I don’t buy petrol and I’m not a Labour MP.
One thing these elections showed was just how shallow tory support is.
If it’s true that the worst of the recession is over and improvements are now happening and will be happening until next May then Brown might (and I emphasise might) just pull it off.
If he can be kept to the path of reform and tuning back into to what people want he may just do it.
Petrol?
I think anyone thinking that the recent decline in prices was permanent was just kidding themselves.
Prices fell because of the recession.
If that is over they are on the way back up.
£1.15?
My bet is that in 1 or 2 years well only have that price as a memory.
The sooner we get off the whole oil dependency thing the better.
Between oil companies edging prices ever higher (and pocketing any tax cut and/or non-tax rise going) to fake shortages (they were pulling their old 1973/79 trick of keeping tankers circling off the ocast helping to create a feeling of shortage to drive prices higher so they could make even higher profits than they already make) it’s nothing but economic blackmail and an environmental & health hazzard.
You’re kidding me.

News reporting – YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG.
The results were too late for the papers. They’ll cover it FULLY tomorrow……………
Short memories here – I’m pretty sure petrol hit rather more than £1.15/l not too long ago.
Who is Yasmina?
The revolt of the ignorant.

I’m surprised they didn’t run with that story about a dead woman found in a wheelie bin, since it combines two of their obsessions.
Excellent, I hope it goes up by more, hopefully weening society off its dangerous addiction to oil.

I wouldn’t be quite so sure JohnD.
