		<description>Unfortunately ID cards haven&#039;t been scrapped. The National Identity Register database remains (which is what the objections are about), and it will still be compulsory for anyone wanting a passport, at least, to be entered onto the database, have their fingerprints taken etc, be subject to fines for not notifying the Government of change in address, as well as the excessive costs (estimated £93 for the combined ID card and passport, and an extra £30 to a private company for the privilege of having your fingerprints taken). The only change is that you don&#039;t have to have the physical piece of &quot;card&quot; itself - but you still have to pay for the bleeding thing.

I agree that if Brown really did scrap ID cards, I&#039;d be glad, and not belittling him for it in brackets.

		<description>I fear I might get murdered as well. I wouldn&#039;t like that at all. If I was really famous, I would probably fear it even more. So, thats the end of that pointless anecdote, so whats the point of the one on that page?</description>
