i’m sure the mail is capable of doing front pages entirely devoted to serious news stories without any straplines about trash TV to trivialise the news, but of course the x factor is made by their friends ITV so this is a nice bit of free advertising for them.
It’s not the first time they’ve done it. My favourite Mail cover has the headline “Did they stop a new 9/11?”, with a picture of the Twin Towers smoking and on fire. At the top of paper? “Free Tikkabilla DVD”.
If the British press are so against Gaddafi and what he stands for why give him and his followers free front page advertising, its a pity this government does’nt use it’s powers
of issuing a D Notice occasionaly, infact I cannot remember when one was last issued.
I know they were used alot during the coal miners stikes and the Falklands war also in Ireland.
The readers of this type of stuff have a strong desire to experience outrage- it’s like a form of sexual thrill to them- possibly the only thing that really gets their adrenaline going-that’s why they buy these papers- to be outraged.
Yeah, anger that we might never know what really happened and the fact whether he did it or not, the people who gave the orders etc won’t ever be brought to justice. It’s all been lost in political machinations and the fact the USA/UK has other bigger bogeymen to go nuts about than Gaddafi these days.
This is what you get when you mess with us
What?
Nice juxtaposition of a very serious story, with an article about X Factor.
I agree Stevie H. What the hell?

It’s like “Do you not like serious news, does news bore you, well at we have X FACTOR stuff inside…. honest”

To be fair though, the situation does warrant some form of…anger.
