Anonymity isn’t just out of consideration for the fact that criminals have already been judged and shouldn’t have a second trial (by baseball bat) from the public, it is also to stop the public from giving in to the animal voice in its head and bludgeoning someone’s skull in. Frothing tabloid headlines illustrate perfectly why criminals are given protection, because imagine how awful our society would be if we actually let people mindlessly give in to their anger.
i thought the mail was always for paying less tax? if these people are given anonymity, it will save a lot of taxes being spent on protecting them from members of the public!

It would be cheaper though to just release them into the wild. Perhaps coated in glow in the dark paint, but guess who would have to pay for that?
