Allison Pearson: Two wrongs make a right.
Good to see the Mail standing up for good old traditional values, as usual.

  2. Original Paul

They will be using that argument a lot in the future.

I just love how that merc looks like he was in It Aint Half Hot Mum. Pearson, however, is incredible. By her standards fraud should be legalised. Obviously starting a child’s education with a lie is a very good thing indeed. And her name’s font is almost as big as the main headline, like her nonsensical view is in anyway important and clearly muscling in on schools and denying locals places is a very good thing to do. Haven’t read the piece, but I’ll bet an imaginary fig that it contains the tiresome words ‘as a mother’.

The government also takes the country to war, so where’s my gun? Bloody double standards innit.

But why haven’t they gone with the E.U end of life as we know it story? I’d have lost money on that.

“But why haven’t they gone with the E.U end of life as we know it story? I’d have lost money on that.”

Papers like the telegraph and the mail tend to whitewash such stories, if it’s going to be detrimental to the bigger goal- getting Cameron elected.

They know that if they make a big deal about it, they’ll also have to have people discussing Camerons u turn on referendums.

They’ve whitewashed the whole thing basically. Expect them to come out all guns blazing on Labour, in 24 hours, when Cameron tries to divert attention onto Brown in his 4pm conference today

Would like to draw attention to thoroughly objectionable piece from Mail Online: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1225083/Could-child-branded-racist-next.html

I am pleased to say, that Daily Mail readers didn’t like my comment and have given it 153 red arrows of non-delight.

Allison Pearson doesn’t know much about logic, does she?

  8. Chris

What’s Christopher Martin-Jenkins doing in handcuffs?

  9. NJH

How dare house-flipping MPs say Hitler wasn’t a very nice man.

  10. DavidM

Pearson’s byline photo is pretty fraudulent, too. Has anyone seen a recent photo of her (try the Mail one of her interviewing Gordon Brown)? The byline pic is about 15 years old, probably from when she started at the Standard, and a good two stone out of date… Nice try, Allison!

@Gav: here’s a positive Daily Mail piece from 2004 about the Government promoting a zero-tolerance policy for school bullying. Presumably any bullying must be stamped out – unless it’s racist when it’s fine.

Gav, you know you achieved something with 150 -ve responses.

The right-wing press HATE Alan Sugar. I bet all these conservative supporters are annoyed they can no longer enjoy watching the Apprentice because they’re not supposed to like Sugar anymore.

  13. Tom (iow)

House-flipping MPs are also, presumably, cracking down on benefit fraud. Any objection from Allison to that?

  14. Gav

Thanks Stu – nice to see another example of the Mail’s hypocritical amnesia! You are dead right, the comments from the readers about the recent story show that the real reason for negative responses is because the article mentions racism. This is of course not allowed to be discussed as it clearly is not a problem in Britain today, at all, (if you read the Mail/Express/Star etc).
James – definitely! Now up to 220+ red arrows of outrage!
