Following all the Twittering concerning Jan Moir and the death of Stephen Gately, here's another gem on the DM debate site. Journalist Mary Ellen Synon has done a piece entitled 'Never go anywhere less than well-armed', in which she appears to suggest how foolish it is to let soldiers go around unarmed on their base, and if they had been armed, this sad affair in Camp Hood could have been avoided. One assumes MPs and guard sentries are of course armed, but suggesting that 'fighting' men - who, after
a few beers in what we used to call the Naafi or returning from an odd-duty visit down town, should have permanent access ro loaded weapons is just bloody stupid. Where does the DM get these morons from?
Read her piece, post a comment, and for those who Twitter, give her a well-deserved blast.
