While the Battle of Britain was undoubtedly a tragedy, and it’s a shame about the disabled boy, that doesn’t take away from the fact that this front page looks more like the front page of “People’s Friend” (or any other magazine in a doctor’s waiting room) than a newspaper.
Tragedy : A disastrous event, especially one involving distressing loss or injury to life: an expedition that ended in tragedy, with all hands lost at sea.
Good to see that Diana Rigg still has it. Sure I saw that DVD on the BNP’s website, though. Guess they must have given the spiffing Guy Hamilton movie away years ago.
The Battle of Britain was fought to keep Britain white and sealed from the rest of the world by pilots who, when the war was over, were then made to feel unwelcome. Was it really a victory?
Yeah, the Poles did really well, 201 of 1100 enemy planes downed. Can’t think of any pilot in that war not respected for being a pilot – what with all the perceived ‘Biggles’ romance of it all. If it was fought to keep Britain white then the best thing to have done was to lose.
