I notice, BTW, that you can’t comment on the headline story on the Mail website. Is that because they don’t want to be snowed under with comments pointing out that they’ve grossly misrepresented the stats? I wonder.
Hmmm well done the Mail for using an analogy that was used to describe the Ottoman Empire at the start of the last century. Of course it’ll go over the majority of the readers heads as the majority of their historical knowledge consists of cliched phrases which they use to make snidey political points.
So they’ve decided Foxy Knoxy is innocent? I guess they need some excuse to keep her and her (former) sex life in the papers, and “guilty woman in prison for ages” isn’t the most interesting story.
Also, we still have a better life expectancy than the USA.
Wasn’t Germany referred to as ‘the sick man of Europe’ in the 1930’s, not long before a certain moustach wearing c*** came to power?
Maybe the higher prevelence of heart conditions here is partly due to the poor diet of a lot of Brits. But we all know how the Mail would respond to any govenment initative to promote healthy eating; NANNY STATE…COUNCIL BANS BANGERS & MASH etc etc…
We’ve known this for years. We’ve got problems with heart disease and cancer. This isn’t news. They’re just trying to scare us and slag off the NHS. Again. Why don’t they point they finger of blame at the poor national diet, the chronic alcoholism and smoking.
PS, “Killer Whale”, I have no idea what a heart survival rate is, either.
She’s white, from a rich middle class family, and it’s an oily “spic” court, where justice can’t possibly be served.
It amazes me how people just think that the UK and US have these great legal systems.
The amount of miscarraiges in justice you get through English courts is truly staggering.
If you actually read the about the Italian system, to me, it seems much more thorough.
As an example, UK:
Defence Evidence. Prosecution Evidence. Jury (of people who know nothing about law) decide. Verdict
In Italy, Portugal, Spain:
Defence evidence. Prosecuation evidence. Jury decides. 3 high court judges then look at their decision, and decide whether they have judged the evidence correctly. Verdict
I’ve done Jury Duty. 12 people deciding your fate. Seriously. I don’t have any faith in it.
You have old dears wanting to send a not guilty verdict on the basis that the plaintiff “looks innocent” and the prosecution witness “looks a bit odd”.
“I notice, BTW, that you can’t comment on the headline story on the Mail website. Is that because they don’t want to be snowed under with comments pointing out that they’ve grossly misrepresented the stats? I wonder.”
A little ditty how The SUN Printing works………..
They publish a purposefully misleading headline. They then put the fact (telling a different story) on the inside cover – as in page 2. A page, funnily, that people just don’t look at. One of the mysteries of the human brain. We just don’t pay attention to left hand side pages.
To seal the deal even more, they will then publish a picture of a topless teenager on the opposite page, to make sure you aren’t tempted to have a read at the actual headline story.
That’s the whole point of page 3. To make sure you don’t read page 2. Which is generally where they publish their “facts”.
So, print fake headline. Put real story on page 2. Topless girl on 3. Everyone believes the headline.
Same principle with Mail. They’ll put the actual fact on page 2, and some attention grabbing story on 3 so you don’t bother reading it.
Publishing is completely cynical, working in it. You wouldn’t believe the thought that goes into it all
“Wasn’t Germany referred to as ‘the sick man of Europe’ in the 1930’s, not long before a certain moustach wearing c*** came to power?”
Hitler also blamed global recession (wall street crash), and Germany’s awful economy on a combination of immmigrants, migrants, and Germany’s “liberal” policies.
The politics of fear my friend. Right wing parties always get in when things have gone “tits up” on the global scale.
They simply hijack it, and blame it on freedom, liberalism, and foreigners.
They transfer global problems to national politics, and then declare their hardline stance as the answer.
it’s quite cynical. Mail, Sun, Cameron, Osborne have been doing it for 2 years
WTF is a ‘heart survival rate’, then?
I notice, BTW, that you can’t comment on the headline story on the Mail website. Is that because they don’t want to be snowed under with comments pointing out that they’ve grossly misrepresented the stats? I wonder.
Must be all that shit they are bein fed by the Mail.
The Mail with another poke at the NHS.

Ottoman Empire and NHS – both ruined by forrin johnnies in turbans.

As usual I must call the Mail’s bluff on their factual content…
Foxy? wtf?!
Foxy Knoxy Still Guilty, funny how they didn’t have the same doubts about Sion Jenkins…..
After all he was innocent.
No wonder Tiger Woods (allegedly) played away, he probably took a look at the mother-in-law and saw what his missus would look like in the future.

Troubling doubts about her guilt.
