Targeting “terrorists” as the Express suggests, will lead to more terrorism, or rather desperate people fed up of being targeted, racially abused and categorized, fighting back.
I’m sick of “newspapers” using really really shoddy sources to create headlines.
They manage to make a front page headline, supporting their own ideology based on next to nothing of real source.
To explain – so you don’t have to read the shoddy story – the claim is based on Professor Anthony Glees, who’s head of the world renownd:
“University of Buckinham Centre of Security………………….”
He’s also a regular contributor to the News of the World, The Sun and various other tabloids. On the basis that he has a “professor” in front of his name, and is staunchly conservative.
His other work includes:
Criticisms of CCTV culture, and it’s intrusion into civil liberties
How foreign Muslim students should be banned from UK universities, to protect UK muslims from radilcalization.
So the story amounts to little more than:
“Barking mad right wing professor, at tiny insitution, who know next to nothing on terrorism, has another go at the muzzers”.
The funniest bit is, he says muslims should be targeted, as it would shorten queues for white people! As in, it’s unacceptable for white people to be searched, as it would take too long!
The funny thing is, at the bottom of the story, they have a quote from actual counter terrorism people. To paraphrase:
“We have a policy of searching everyone. We don’t screen muslims as it is counter productive. If we screened muslims then Al Queda would simply start using other ethnic groups for their work, leaving us un-prepared for any attack”
His point being, I assume that the attempted bomber last week was actually nigerian. And there are as many black muslims as their are arab
Relying on technology of any kind to defeat the Islamic terrorist menace is doomed to failure. Hi-tech isn’t working in Afghanistan and won’t work at airports. What is needed is iron resolution and a willingness to be ruthless. If we employed the same robust tactics that our medieval forebears used to defeat Islamic attempts to conquer the West, then in a short space of time no Muslim militants would dare come to Europe and those Muslims who reside in our midst would not dare to support terrorism in any form. But alas, all too many people in the West, including most of those who contribute to this site, believe only in appeasement and surrender where Islam is concerned. If the kind of people who contribute regularly to this site were in charge of Europe’s anti-terrorist programmes then it would not be long before al Qaeda were proclaiming victory. Useful idiots or fifth columnists? I wonder which it is.
Yes, lets start roasting babies! Fields of people impaled on sticks! That will rid us of their hideous idea of a civilisation and their giant single entity that is Islam.
And how will we know which ones are going to be a genuine threat and worth screening? They could, er, pre-screen everyone by screening them. Obviously Dirty Des and Mentally Hill haven’t thought this one through, no change there
