By “workshy” does Cameron mean his Eton friends.

    £229m squandered?
That covered around 300,000 contracts which averages out at about £763 each.

Another ridiculously inaccurate headline about the BBC “squandering £260m on presenters”. The BBC figures are for actors, musicians, and other talent, not just presenters. Almost half – £115m – of that money goes to people on less than £50k a year, who are highly unlikely to be top presenters. Only £54m goes to those on £150k and above. So “BBC squanders £260m paying people to act in its comedies and dramas and present all its other shows” would be more accurate.

Perhaps the Express’s owner Richard Desmond will reveal how much he pays the talent on Red Hot TV, X2, and his other TV networks.

Typical Tories, only a matter of time before they will be announcing they are building workhouses.

I wonder when I will see the headline “Daily Express squanders millions in lost libel cases and legal fees”

You mock, but it may just work. I’d be out looking for a job if I thought I were going to be woken up by a phone call from that oleaginous cunt.

Could someone remind me how many days a year the House of Commons sits?

Why is Ross always used as the whipping boy for Beeb-bashing? Why not Clarkson or Moyles, both paid obscenely for lesser talent and less varied output, and also far more offensive than Old-Actor-Has-His-Feelings-Hurt-Gate from last year.

Is it sticking more competetion on JSA due to “drastic cuts in the first 50 days” Oh wait that idea isn’t going ahead I forgot.

I know I only work in one Jobcentre in one part of the country but I would say it’s about 5% workshy and 95% actively seeking. The problem with west cornwall is that it relies on building and tourism and nethier are happening at this present moment, that’s what happens when you promote the idea of holiday homes, your economy loses vital income in the winter months due to the lack of locals

Without knowing the full details of The Express’ article and the Conservative stance on the workshy, I think that a Conservative goverment will fail to make any serious impact on mass unemployment.

I’ve read that there are currently five times as many people out of work as there are vacancies. This sort of worklessness is typical of free market economies, especially during recessions.

It is also interesting to hear that Cameron has a solution to the unemployment problem, as it was a Conservative government that decided to hide the unemployed on benefits other than Job Seeker’s Allowance. I am curious to know how things will change for the unemplyed under the next Tory government.
