I’m not docotr but I believe the main benefit of the pill is it stops women getting pregnant as well.
But shouldn’t this be a “medical Monday” story….

  2. Phil

Don’t syphilis, gonorrhoea, AIDS, etc count as serious illnesses then? Because I believe being on the pill can actually increase a woman’s chances of getting those! I’m surprised the Express hasn’t leaped on that one.

  3. Original Paul

I see to recall the Express being against the pill being widely available.

  4. Tony

The want it to be widely available to the over 50’s.

  5. Tony

I bet the ‘traveller camp’ is pretty permanent if it’s managed to get a postcode, and is large enough to actually need one. Nothing outrageous about it.

  6. Phil

To the Express the very word “traveller” is inherently outrageous. Whatever such people are alleged to have done this time is irrelevant.

  7. NickPheas

How dare people living in caravans expect their mail to be delivered.

Actually… assuming the camp is big enough to justify a postcode I am outraged that a judge needed to get involved, with all the costs that that implies. We’ll all pick the bill up sooner or later. I suspect that this is not why the Express is outraged though.

  8. Stinky

That would also be post that somebody has paid for to be delivered. Was it the Mail or Express whinging about the first class postal service recently? I guess you are only entitled to this if you are a hard working White-British taxpayer who most certainly is not a dirty, thieving gyp…er…Traveller.

  9. Phil

Besides, if they haven’t got a postcode how is the Post Office supposed to know where to deliver the eviction notices, ASBOs, etc. Ah ha, you see. I bet the Express didn’t even think of that one!

If you are on the pill it’s probable that you also visit your GP more often than if you were not. GP’s are great at cutting risks of serious illness.

Yes – but it also turns our beloved, white, middle-class, pure-as-the-driven-snow, white, christian, middle-class, normal, tax-paying, law-abiding (except speeding), sensible, British, white teenage daughters into Gormless Mugabe Broon’s zombie teenage slut army.

AND GUESS WHO’S PAYING FOR IT?

“The travellers, who have 30 caravans at the camp, applied for the postcode to help fire and ambulance crews locate them in case of a emergency.” How terrible of them.

Apparently they own the land and are applying for planning permission to stay there permanently. (Actually, as someone living in a new development whose postcode is not in many databases, I can sympathise.)

  13. Marcs

The pill should be compulsory for all readers of the Express and Mail, especially the female readers. In a few generations it may be a nice country.

  14. Steve

Where do we find these zombie teenage sluts?

I’d be outraged if they didn’t have a postcode.

  15. matto

Outrage as law on travellers is actually used.

  16. NJH

If they get their own postcode then surely it would have less effect on the all-important house prices of the deluded “Middle Class”, a good thing in their surreal world.

  17. Steve

Don’t forget kiddies, voting Labour causes cancer.

  18. Tony

“Apparently they own the land and are applying for planning permission to stay there permanently”

So.. they own the land, with all that implies (council tax, various utility bills to be paid, income to support all this) and want to actually stay there permanently.

The express is outraged at this? They only thing that separates them from the average express reader is their detached house has wheels on it..

  19. karlo

And they sound like such lovely neighbours:
‘Louise Bowling, 31, who has stables adjoining the field of the site, said the travellers threatened to burn down her home and kill her animals unless she sold them her land at a knockdown price.’

  20. ms morbo

the key word there karlo being “said”.

  21. Tom (iow)

Even if they did that , I’m not aware of “denial of postcode” being a lawful sanction in this country.
