Oh dear, has someone been watching too many war movies, thinking about how ‘good’ it was back then, again.
Or does the headline writer had Littlejohn as a hero.
    Gestapo, indeed!
Mind you they’ve managed to get Liberty and Ukip to agree on something so that has to be a first..
Of course the new force won’t do anything the UK police, M16 or Interpol don’t do already but the added ‘theory’ that you’ll be arrested if you don’t agree with climent change is an ‘interesting’ touch.

Godwin’s Law suggests that the Express does not have an argument to fight here.

    Oh dear!

  4. Applemask

    They misspelled “NOW”

By that non-Wurzel photo Cider drinkers who only started to drink cider when some ad man suggested adding ice and thinking about Ireland. Expensive cider, too. That had its tax held in stasis compared to other drinks.

You have to remember, the conservatives basically rule every cider producing consituency in the entire country.

    The West Country, Cornwall, Norfolk.

The Mail and Expresses impassioned defence of cider is the simple fact that it hits tory party seats.

They don’t rule Cornwall, they share power with the Independents (Basically Tory Councillers who felt they wouldn’t win if they ran as such), Most of the Mp’s are liberal democrat actually.

Anyhow the headline basically destroys anything written in the paper. Apparently 100,000 NHS staff can see YOUR RECORDS……….Well no shit sherlock

Ah, just like the Gestapo – VER AR YOUR MEDICAL PAPERS!

Oh, on a centralised database. Handy.

  9. Doctor F.

The Express lurches closer to being the print version of Infowars.

  10. Marcs

A newspaper that hates immigrants and Socialism so much makes accusations of Gestapo? Maybe some Britons need spying on anyway, more for their own good than anyone else’s.

  11. Applemask

Down here in Cornwall we’re entirely represented by Lib Dems in parliament (for now) and mostly by the Tories in local whatever machine.

Various civil liberties organisations are concerned about the powers Europol has, but the Express doesn’t exactly do the story any favours with its hysterical headline and factual inaccuracies. Europol isn’t “new”: it has existed since the early 1990s and greatly increased its powers following 9/11. Still, whatever your view on civil liberties and European integration, it’s always fun to imagine Richard Desmond goose-stepping around the Express offices doing Hitler salutes.

  13. NJH

Not quite, Jake, here in Somerset they generally interchange with the LibDems. Outside Bristol, and possibly Exeter, Labour don’t get a look in.

We could all solve the problem of train strike “wrecking” our holidays by visiting our nice neighbours elsewhere in the EU….

  14. Major Misunderstanding

Couldn’t they have put Eight Ace in the ‘dead white woman corner’? He’s more representative of the people whow will be affected by the clampdown on Frosty Jack and his chums.

I agree with them on the teacher, but under their own tabloid criteria, since Huntley, shouldn’t she be sacked just in case? An allegation is on file against her.
