How do the announced strike dates “wreck Easter Holidays”? the strikes are during rush hour on the Tuesday-Friday after Easter. Families are less likely to be travelling those days- apart from days out
You know, surely the militant in all of this is Willie Walsh.
Withdrawing offers. Permanently banning staff from their flight perks if they strike.
You know. I’m pretty sure the mail doesn’t even know what the term means, but it means “confrontational”.
That stupid irish twerp is definitely that.
Personally, I couldn’t care less if BA went under. They deserve to go under, the way they are managed.
In modern society, what business can acceptedly charge 30% more than it’s rivals, for any flight destination, just because they are “British” and have some snobby, colonial image to uphold.
Here’s a tip Willy Walsh. Your’e struggling to compete as airlines like Emirates are:
1: 30% cheaper than you
2: Much more reliable than you
3: Just as high quality
Jake- I don’t think that Emirate airlines would tolerate a militant communist union holding them to ransom . Could be the reason for their superior service. Are you old enough to remember the Winter of Discontent? Perhaps not otherwise you would be fearful of the way this present dispute is shaping up!.
Lady burglar – I’m old enough to remember the winter of Discontent, but I also remember who horrors thatcher put everyone up north through, to destroy the minors, who didn’t want their pits to close. Which then happened so we could spend more importing polish coal.
As for BA, the management have a lot to answer for, all of which is being ignored by the press who seem to be under the impression that the government to ’step into’ what is a private company. If they did, wouldn’t that make them, the “nanny state”… you can’t have it both ways.
er…. the strike will wreck Easter holidays because they have been scheduled for the school holidays ( when people with school age children go on holiday or visit their elederly relatives.)
Jake have you considered the possibility that Emirates may be cheaper than BA (I’ve no idea if it is or not) er because it has a lower cost base.
Here’s a tip Willy Walsh
1) reduce your cost base to compete with other airlines……..oh that’s what you’re trying to do.
Not sure what Willie Walsh’s nationality has to do with anything – but it using it between the terms stupid and twerp sound a wee bit racist to me.
Good job you didn’t send the kids on the school language trip to spain because you’d have paid for that ages ago, and you won’t get your money back on the tuition and accommodation if the little darlings miss it because of the strike.

Has the story of the top strap lost its way from Chat magazine? Geat paper, no matter what y’all say. Mail, not so much.
I think that is a forecast if CMD is elected.
She’s no better than she ought to be that one………trollop!
BA militants = 30 something, female, cabin crews, using their democratic right to strike, after a democratic vote to strike.

Err some travel firms strike over easter = the new winter of discontent.
Yeah that’s bullshit hyperbole for you,
Well BA was certainly my airline of choice for a short break with the kids. Gutted. I’ll just have to save some money and go elsewhere.

Wow it really is the winter of discontent mark II
Jesus, when I went to spain for a college trip we went on a coach – I thought kids only went on planes in Lord of the Flies. Britain is truly Broken.
Pft Little Tommy’s Spanish trip…………….I had to cancel my subscription to Asian Babes due to the credit crunch
