The Express should know all about recycling old material……….

  2. Mr Mordon

Not really, recycling was invented by hippies and commies don’t you know, don’t you know

The quotes should be around “Noah’s Ark” not “found up a mountain”. Some bits of old wood have been found up a mountain and some one has claimed they’re the remains of Noah’s Ark.

  4. ms morbo

really express? that’s your front page?
    bloody hell.

  5. Original Paul

That is 20 days less repeats than the Express/

  6. TedB

So the BBC has the equivilant of four channels (bbc3 sharing with CBBC & BBC4 sharing with Cbeebies), broadcasting every day for a year so that’s 4×365 or a totaly of 1460 days of which just a third are repeats.
So that’s two thirds of the BBC’s output is brand new… or 930 days…
I’d bet that no other broadcaster can match that over their channels given that the likes of Sky2/3 & ITV3/4 show nothing but repeats all the time.

ON the other hand the digital channels that are just BBC repeats (Dave, alibie, GOLD etc) do extremely well, so clearly a demand for repeats…

PS: Is the election over now?

So are all repeats automatically “old rubbish” or just some? I think most people quite enjoy watching their favourite programmes again.
BTW the Royal Shakespeare Company is forever repeating the same plays so does this mean the works of Shakespeare are “old rubbish” as well?

I wonder how many repeats there are on Television X, Red Hot TV, and the other TV channels owned by the Express’s boss. I guess most of them only broadcast a few hours per days. But I don’t fancy checking the schedules.

Meanwhile, Sky TV primetime schedules are largely composed of repeats (tonight: 7pm Simpsons – repeat, 8pm Pineapple Dance Studios – repeat from last Sunday, 9pm Real A&E at 9 – previously shown on Sky 2, 10pm A League of their Own – original, 10.30pm Mission Impossible – much-seen film; 30 mins new programming from 7pm till midnight!) and the beloved HBO makes 3 hours of original programming per week.

  9. Mail Man

Only the likes of the Daily Fail & Des Sexpress could one the one hand cry about the number of repeats across all the BBC channels (which I like actually as it means if I miss something good I stand a chance of seeing it later in the week) and on the otherhand campaign for years to cut and/or do away with the licence fee.

  10. Mail Man

I wonder how they calculated this?

Do HD versions of programs broadcast on BBC HD count as a repeat?

I bet they do, I wouldn’t trust that shower of b@stards to calculate the price of a pint of milk.

….er, I mean, litre of milk (thanks to those Brussels Euro Gestapo dictating to our ZanuLabstasi Gov)

  11. TedB

    @Mail Man
Exactly, and I bet they didn’t count BBC Parliment either, as that just shows live (and therefore new) footage

Oh and don’t forget that this has to be Clegg’s fault as well as all those you listed..

  12. Stevie H

    @ MailMan,

You’ve identified the real point of the article – a clumsy and blunt attack on the BBC (which I, personally, believe is marvellous and good value for money).

    WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK

  14. NJH

TedB, there’s BBC News and BBC Parliament too. I suspect that they may be being crafty with their 530 days statistic; if Brown/Cameron/Clegg kisses a few babies, it’ll probably make BBC News several times as a rolling news station, as well as the 1, 6 and 10 o’clock newses.

  15. Tom (iow)

    That’s some leap year.
