Now that the London Evening Standard isn’t part of the Mail group it can enjoy telling its readers that “Gary Lineker has quit his weekly Mail on Sunday column in protest at the story that led to the downfall of FA chairman Lord Triesman.”. Not a mention that I could see on the Mail site. Funny that!
Better to be safe than sorry…. I’m sure if a plane took a nose dive due to engine failure caused by dust particles that they would be the first to blame someone about it.
As you can’t blame Gordon now you blame the met office, as my dad said the people who criticise seem to be playing with people’s lives and that’s not on.
The way these papers act as if this is a fully understood phenomenon is just horrible.
Sheer crass spiteful ignorance shouted as if it were empirical fact.
Of course has the Met Office not issued warnings and huge numbers of lives been lost scum like the DM would have been 1st in the line to denounce and demand heads.
Interesting that the Ryanair plane with wrecked engines from being allowed to operate in this ash cloud is never mentioned in any of this.
How dare they not risk people’s lives flying through a potential ash cloud. Sometimes, the Met Office just have no clue do they? Why not have the editors of the Mail do the forecasting? I’m sure they’d do a better job.
Ah so the ash cloud is now gone the way of climate change then, banished by the Wail…
Ooh look, another dig at the Met Office. Let’s privatise it and then they’ll never get anything wrong ever again about anything, EVER!
The CAA should consult Littlejohn. he is an expert in these matters.

British “girl” conquers Everest? How old is she? 7?
Perhaps we should be thankful it wasn’t “Blonde conquers Everest”.
Mail on Science – someone gets one thing wrong once, and every single aspect of the field is thus instantly invalidated
What’s quite funny is the Mail readers taking the Mail on Sunday to task for its expose on Lord Treisman
Must admit, wouldn’t mind getting a view of her peaks
(sorry)
twin peaks!
(sorry too)
if it had been a man or an older/unattractive woman, would they still have reported it?

And in a case of life imitating art

You couldn’t make it up.
The Mail guilty of spite and lies? Surely not.

Ooops
‘has’ should have been ‘had’. Soory.

While we’re waiting for something new on here: http://averypublicsociologist.blogspot.com/2010/05/mail-group-paper-in-made-up-racism.html
I think it’s about time this front page was updated. This ash cloud story dates from 18 May and today’s the 28th!
Ok, Littlejohn. No need to say any more. The “Bigot of the Year” award is yours.

I’ve always assumed Littlejohn was gay.
Not content with romping home with the title of “Bigot of the Year”, he’s gone and secured himself the “Cunt of the Year” grand prize today as well:

At least he gets a kicking in the Comments section, and quite rightly too.
Littlejohn’s hypocrisy and bigotry on both these stories is neatly summed up here.

Is Merk stranded on the other side of this non-existent ash cloud then?
No surprises Littlejohn couldn’t go through thios without sounding like the c*nt he is.
It’s been interesting watching the pro-gun lobby try and sound off their spiel from the start of this latest gun tragedy.
