Since when has it been “our flagship company”? Are we so shallow as to need a “flagship company”? Are we so paranoid as to think Obama calling BP cunts equates to him insulting us?
I await the anti-Obama rhetoric linked to football tomorrow.
Why are attacks by the President of the country which has had a major environmental catastrophe “cynical”? What would they say if an American company had caused the same damage here, would Cameron’s attacks be “cynical” too?
What I don’t understand is why the Mail are demanding that PM Cameron call off the Obama attack dogs when their ‘reporters’ routinely do the same to others. For THEIR information, BP ceased to be British-owned years ago.
Hopefully when Obama visits India this year he can pay up billions of dollars to help the 15,000 relatives of the dead and other victims of the 1984 Bhopal disaster, which is still leaking toxins into the environment where people have to live and bring the bosses to Indian justice.
It’s the only fair thing to do considering Union Carbide only paid out $470m when Obama wants BP to be fined up to $10bn, and BP have stated, repeatedly, that they’re going to pay for the clean up, unlike many other American company’s that dump their toxic waste on darkies in the third/developing world.
Listening to the hypocrisy of Obama and America on cleaning up spilt shit and paying for it and paying compensation to the victims is tedious shit and cynical politicking.

You’re right, America (well, an American company) did something bad 26 years ago; therefore, the America of 2010 has no right to have a different position on the matter.
Britons should not complain about the Iraq War. After all, in the Middle Ages, they occupied France! HYPOCRITES!

Those were private companies actions. Not the American government
I should add, the Daily Mail have also been campaigning for corruption charges to be dropped against BAE.
On the principle that it’s purposefully hurting a “great british company” that thousands rely on for work.
I doubt it’s defence of BP is because of it being “anti British”. It’s more likely the fact that a lot of their readers, and the upper classes will be losing shed loads of money on the falling share prices.
They’ve probably been given an order from Lord Smidgley Smyth III, major shareholder of the Mail group, requesting a PR operation to “stop the damn commies attacks on the share price”

Some 40% of BP shares are owned by Americans.
If it’s our flagship company then why did the drop the “British” to become BP…
BTW: are those photos real, or did someone just photoshop CallMe and Obama’s heads onto the same body and then colour the tie?

i think “cynical” has become the same as “pc”, a term rendered meaningless by being attatched to just anything they don’t like.
Anyway, it’s not good politics to attack the American president. Never know when you might want his support.

Just what the situation needs, turning into an international pissing contest.
It’s not as catchy as
“if you hate Man U”

And we’ll see anothr scummy tabloid demanding their local leader stand up for the (Union Carbide) Pensioners?
Oh I see millions of wildlife don’t matter as long as our pensions are ok (I could puke blood at reading that)

Fury as blood puking treehugger insults our pensioners.
(Lacks moral ifbre of Uncle Geoff who defeated Hitler’s soccer horsed and win it for Thatcher.)
Do I have the job yet Mr Dacre??
When the left were Anti-Bush, they were Anti-America.
When the right are Anti-Obama, they are Pro-Britain.
How odd :\
Honeymoon over then? I was expecting it to last the full 5 years too…
Note change of language. A couple of months ago it would have been just “Brown” not “Mr Brown”.

@crouching tiger hidden badgers paws
We illegally invaded, and occupied, killing millions in the process:
South Africa
India
Hong Kong
Gibraltar
The Falklands
Singapore
Malaysia
In the last 300 years. Some of which we only gave back within the last 30.
Shouldn’t we start apologising about that?
You know, just look at the Falklands, as part of our glorious history.
It was originally French.
We then took it, illegally, through force.
We then decided we didn’t want it and withdrew sovereignty
The Argentines then put a settlement on it.
We then decided we did want it, 100 years later, and destroyed the settlement, killing nearly every one on the island.
We claimed sovereignty again.
Glorious……..

sorry Chris but your “history” of the Falklands is complete rubbish
