Can you imagine them putting a positive spin on this green issue if the other lot were in power? It’d all be about the interfering nanny state telling business what to do, blah blah, regulation, blah blah, pc-gone-mad judge, blah blah.

I wish celebs wouldn’t use the naming of their child as a publicity stunt.

    Poor kid!

“Danger of a godless society” by the Pope.

Well, he’s hardly going to put his hands up and say it’s all bollocks, is he?

Do you think the pope would be happy if we all believed in Allah, or would that be the wrong God do you think?
Still nice to see someone speaking up for the Muslims in the Mail…. or am I reading that wrong!
Now we just need to deport all those atheist ‘Nazis’ and Britain will no longer be broken.

My atheism hasn’t quite cost the taxpayer £21 million this week. I’ll try harder next week.

Even if they wouldn’t be my exact way of phrasing it, a DM headline I actually agree with. A bit early in the decade mind you, with at least ten years to wait for the next.

So under Labour it was Nanny State control, Under the Tories/Lib Dems it’s WAR…..?

I saw the Pope’s speech at Westminster Hall and, although there were parts where I could nod in agreement, some of it browned me off.

Particularly irksome was the Pope’s insistence that Catholics and other religious people should be able to exercise their conscience, which I took to be a veiled demand for Catholics et al to be free to disobey specific laws, ie: those surrounding gay equality. My knowledge is vague, but I understand Catholic doctors can already b*gger up a female patient’s request for an abortion thanks to a legal loophole.

I’m tired of religion’s special treatement. It is accorded a respect it has not earned and does not deserve. Furthermore, there should be one law in the UK for all people, and those who wish to slaugher animals in stupid ways and treat others like second class citizens should obey it.

The main danger of a godless society for the Pope is that the Catholic Church – along with all other churches – becomes redundant and therefore powerless.
The danger for the rest of us is that law and order may break down as people stop believing that they are being watched night and day by some unseen deity.
Except in Britain of course where we are watched night and day by CCTV.

Godless? It’s like he thinks we’re all kids who only behave ourselves when dad is in the house and as soon as he goes out we’re going to go mental and poop all over the walls and put piggy’s head on a stick. Pretty low view of humanity he has there. I do like his red shoes, though. I imagine when he takes them off they keep on dancing.
