Blimey - I have a son of the same age and I can't even begin to imagine him in this position, he's only interested in his football and computer games, not having sex. This is shocking.

Initial thoughts are how shocking! Having said that however, it seems as though they are trying their best to take responsibility for their actions, especially Alfie.
Not an ideal situation, but as long as the child is loved and cared for properly it is not a bad thing. Age does not guarantee good parenting, as recent headlines of babies killed by their parents proves.
Good luck to them and, now the deed is done and the clocks can't be turned back, I hope they get all the support they need.

Oh yes, of course he'll be a good father. He knows exactly where he's heading and what his life's aspirations are. The rest of us know this will end in tears with the good old tax payer taking care of the lot of them.Click to rate Rating 390- Glyn, Southampton, U.K., 13/2/2009 8:53

Life may not be easy for the young parents featured in this report, but they have a good attitude and the support of their families and I say good luck to them. It would be nice to receive a follow-up report in five years time showing Alfie and Chantelle married and living up to their responsibilities with a happy, healthy five year old daughter.

Given that both are under the age of consent, should the Police not be involved?

Believe me, he will NOT be a "good dad".
I am an avid supporter of having to apply for parenting licenses. There are too many children being born to imbeciles like these two, who have no chance of brining up a child even half properly.
