Don't forget though, he is a gay role model (according to, er, himself)!

Perhaps if you use the word "gay" in the Chris Moyles sense.

Is that in the same way all male children between the ages of 9 and 14 uses it, before they really understand what it means

I think the closeup is a great photo! It looks like a kid from the 50's enjoying a book in simpler times. Great light.

Everyone used to read books on the roof (and use greengrocers apostrophes) in the 50s. That why they were better. TRUFAX

greengrocer's apostrophes

I know I shouldn't attempt to be pedantic if I can't be bothered to re-read my own typing.

This story sums up BROWN'S BRITAIN today!

There should be no state financial help given to them. As they said, they kept the girl's pregnancy secret. Well they can now finance the child as well!

Why should the British tax payer fund them!

BROWN OUT NOW!

BROWN RESIGN NOW!

BROWN, ELECTION NOW!

What does that even mean? Does it mean that the country is going down the tubes because 13 year old boys are having children? Because they're not, are they? It's just one in a hugely exceptional case, isn't it?

And in any case, wouldn't that be a symptom rather than the cause of the country going down the tubes?

So what does it mean? Apart from "I'm the kind of twat that likes to make nonsensical, kneejerk comments without even thinking about them".

Initial thoughts are how shocking! Having said that however, it seems as though they are trying their best to take responsibility for their actions, especially Alfie.

Not an ideal situation, but as long as the child is loved and cared for properly it is not a bad thing. Age does not guarantee good parenting, as recent headlines of babies killed by their parents proves.

Good luck to them and, now the deed is done and the clocks can't be turned back, I hope they get all the support they need.

Life may not be easy for the young parents featured in this report, but they have a good attitude and the support of their families and I say good luck to them. It would be nice to receive a follow-up report in five years time showing Alfie and Chantelle married and living up to their responsibilities with a happy, healthy five year old daughter.

I actually feel sorry for these two in a way, they (especially the boy) clearly haven't the faintest idea what they've got themselves into. The commenters are still a bunch of idiots though.
