Hundreds of new gipsy camps to be built across Britain as homeowners face threat of 'land grab'

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -grab.html

They are going to steal your land with their filthy traveling ways . No longer will we be able to have rubbish dumped , force them out of caravans . These heathens will have electricity and water! And they will pay council tax and rent . Disgusting . How are we going to vilify them all now and force them onto sink estates ?It's peg selling appeasement . And they are all new age hippies anyway .

The question that's a-trembling on my lip is who's going to pay for it?

I couldn't make it up Roge, you're right there - fortunately you're there to make it up for me. Unfortunately you are based in Mexico which means you can't even be genuinely worried about your quality of life and are just a racist. I'm sure I've heard of someone else in North America in the same boat...

It's ironic that most of the caravans you see on the roads are probably owned by Mail/Express readers anyway.

Roger Wheeler from mexico is looking like he's going to need his own thread soon, he always crops up spouting crap. For ages I was convinced he was a piss-take, now I'm not so sure...

Does mixing up the cases help him to push home his point? I can't decide.

This may be a stupid question but why do they (Mail readers and others of that stripe) spell it Nu?? Is it supposed to be a satire on funky 21st-century-type rebranding?

I think it's an amusing take on Zanu, the anti-white movement in Zimbabwe. It suggests that NuLabour is aginst the white, middleclass. middle-Englanders much beloved by The Mail and, by extension, hated by Bliar and Judas McBroon.

fine by me, I'm against them as well. (in certain cases, like 90% of the Mail's online commenters)

Regards,

Ahh... Had been wondering where the "Nu" came from myself. I thought that it might've been a Littlebrain invention that the rest of them started parroting. In fact, even knowing where the Nu comes from it has a strong LJ air about it...

Well the story has just been upped a little to make it even more whooooaaaaa scary in tone . 100 million has been added to the title , a nice round figure compared to the actual 97 but why quibble about another 3 million . Gone is the reference to the fact that it costs 18 million a year to clean up after illegal encampments . Ok I am sure they will continue , but on an optimistic level this projects a potential saving. Further there are an estimated 25000 travelers and gypsies that don't have adequate sites , this will help 7500 caravans , which at a cost of 97 mill seems something of a bargain compared to building permanent housing . Of course if the 1968 act had been implemented this problem might not be here , and tension may have eased considerably over the years.

Also now is the obligatory old biddy moaning about a site near her ( husband retired Joseph the Carpenter....Jesus' dad?) . There will be a site where illegal encampments took place . She moans about the rubbish , residents "fear the impact this will have on their quality of life and the environment" ,but now something is being done it seems she just doesn't want them there . Its a tory council building it too. Would like to know more of the facts at the "220-acre wildlife haven....(which).... could soon be a permanent base" . As they said some pitches could have as many as 3 families , I don't think the entire 220 acres is going to be used , though the article mentions 14 spaces . What is the actual site to be used I wonder.

"With no official permanent site for travellers and gypsies in the Brighton area, the council scoured 45 sites before opting for Sheepcote Valley.

Tory councillor Geoffrey Theobald said: 'The obligation is to have one small, properly managed, properly screened site with a permanent manager.' "

That would be NuTory councillor Geoffrey NuTheobald , traitor to his party that it is claimed will scrap the scheme and let the whole thing fester.

I don't think that the "Nu" comes from "Zanu". I think calling them "Zanu Labour" (or any other bastardisation of "Labour") came after calling them "Nu Labour".

The site is in an area with wildlife interest . Also a landfill site with dangerously high levels of methane . The site is self is a former BMX track . The Tory council does not have to provide the site.

I was aware of a law that states that Land should be provided for travellers, nowfor years it's been moved and moved and moved and it's led to the problems that have appeared in recent years and which give travellers i believe a bad name.

As for the blog post by Des Turner, this smacks of what councils have done for years, they list a site that is then turned down and no new site is proposed.

To steal a quote from a quote on a Manics record, it's disgusting the way we treat some people in this country.

Tough, i find it tiresome that taxpayers should have to constantly bend over backwards to accomodate people who contribute nothing to the country. At least the immigrants who come over here come to work or study. I find it disgusting the way these people treat the country (and countryside for that matter) if you want to live on the edge of society why should you expect help from it?

Don't have much time for commie nutters like the manics either
