DM- sorry but you are wrong! She deserves a medal not because she was dumped and found happiness again but because she did an amazing thing by finishing the marathon with true courage, grit, bravery and determination. Her ex was not worthy of her so she is better off without him. People like her are brave no matter what happens.

I think it's disgraceful that a story about a woman who has done a wonderful and incredibly brave thing in walking this should be packaged as a story about her love life - what's the relevance? I'm so impressed by her actions, and I think it's a travesty that she hasn't been given a medal. I also think that that should be allowed to stand alone as a story.

I think it is wrong to say that her boyfriend failed to support her when she needed him, not everyone is cut out to cope when a loved one is disabled in such a debilitating way. This woman is inspirational but please to not denounce the boyfriend.
