It's all in a day's work for the purveyors of the Sidebar of Shame to slag off the perceived shortcomings of others, but what happens when someone takes them to task for their woeful use of the English language?

That's the attitude! Just ignore those haters who spend their days writing nasty things online about other people. They only do it to pander to their insecurities and make their small lives feel better... oh, wait.

Interesting claim from the Mail hack. Must be that 'Daily Mail Reporter' is a figment of my imagination.

Incidentally, wonder if this bakery will get a puff-piece in the Mail soon?

Only nine mentions in Mail Online so far in 2011, including plugs for its cookbook and as a valentine's day treat.

Several mentions of the bakery appear on the rarely-trawled Coffee Break Chat forums. I wonder if McConnell and the other sidebar hacks have been moonlighting in the Mail's own discussion threads.

Well, well, well... Here's what happens when a lone member of the general public dares to call out the Mail online showbiz hacks for their crimes against decent English:

Now why on earth would Georgina have reason to feel personally affronted at someone's criticism of the grammar and spelling in the MailOnline?? Very big of her to bring in her boss for backup against the nasty person, though.

The London Bird is great.

Love the way it's assumed she's "in the business" because she reckons the paper's shit.

Well, Ms. Mendoza is quite right to defend herself against this sniping. After all, she is a journalist of the very highest calibre:

There's been a rapprochement.

Watch Georgina turn on the charm, Littlejohn-style:

Quite. I Tweeted LondonGirl that Georgina's family had a history of not doing irony, to be told she was 'cool'...

I think we may be paddling in the shallow end of the needy pool here.

Christ, wanting a national newspaper to achieve minimum standards of literacy is "smug and righteous". Pot, kettle.

Do not forget, I have researched the recent family history,. Could you tweet, we all fucked Wendy Bosworth on a drink binge.
Richie was made to pay.

MailOnline showbiz editor comes up with new slogan for the site:

Not quite 'All the News that's Fit to Print', is it?
