You'll be shocked to learn that I don't know anything about boxing — indeed, I don't think I could name five boxers ever. However, Cerdan was the great hero of the pieds-noirs, and thus on my father's side of the family he's a demi-god. I believe I stand to inherit more than one biography. There's also a statue of him near where I used to live in Paris. I did have to check that he was whiskerless, but I had a doubt!
