The Mail have set up what seems to be a rip-off of the Telegraph blogs section. It's a replacement for the Debate section and they've also attracted some new bloggers, including such Grade A cuntflaps as Mark Littlewood, Nile Gardiner and the Reverend Peter Mullen, who once called for gays to be tattooed with health warnings.

I'm sure there will be twattery aplenty in this section over the coming years.

I do love the way the Mail always goes on about how inefficient the public sector is yet some of it's own employment practices are not much better. I would have thought most papers would need at the most three gob-shites a day churning out opinion pieces especially when they all seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet yet the Mail now seem to have at least 6 right wing loons a day churning out putrid articles and they are still recruiting.

I wonder if the Mail has actually ever sacked a columnist for not being controversial enough? Perhaps there new policy is to go for quantity rather than quality.

Oh fuck, Nile Gardiner. The idea of a bidding war over that cunt.

What's the betting "Obama's sliding poll ratings" feature at some point? Polls don't even have to slide for him to do this schtick.

Obama must have no voters left, the way Niles goes on. In fact, he sees to have 42 (v49 disapproval). Here's some good Gardiner:

http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2011/08/ ... my-carter/

And he works for a "thinktank"? Not a third rating polling outfit?

Obama's poll ratings will shoot back up once the GOP decide which theocratic lunatic will face him in the Presidential election.

So basically the Mail is doing something the Telegraph already does, but is doing it worse. Sounds about right...

RightMinds? That has to be the least appropriate name possible.

Oh, and don't click on the link at the moment, unless you want to be confronted by a larger than normal photo of Littlejohn.

I assume the title is an abbreviation of "not in their right minds"

Right as in rabid-right-leaning islamophobes, misogynists and general misfits. Oh, and Lidljohn. Hefferlumpen edits, rather than writes for. Which is a small blessing.

From the Guardian article:
Quote:
"Above all, you can have your say on all of the opinions expressed on the site. Every article and blog invites your comment," the paper said.

I wonder if that means they'll make Hitchens fall into line to allow an open comments facility?

I'm still struggling with the name. It doesn't seem to mean anything. It's like they've taken a few different cliches and made them have a car crash.

Steve Baxter tries it, and finds it rather less polished than Mail Online...

Look at this crap

http://kiteblog.dailymail.co.uk/2011/09 ... ength.html

That's, y'know, published writing? Labour are bad, Tories are great.

Looks good.

It is baffling and seems, on the face of it, no less arbitrary than the current set-up. I have been on the Boundary Commission website wading through the mind-numbing detail to find out more.

This is where blogs are shit. They're "stick something up every day". No-one's supposed to care if you can't be bothered to read the Boundary Commission report. "On the face of it"? Yeah, that's journalism, right there.

Quote:
Watching the people on the right side of the road get good value for money, pay half the council tax

Unless you've lived there for about 20 years, the difference in council tax was built into what you paid for your house. Stop moaning. And rejoice at the sort of strokes Wandsworth tries to pull. From the Mail a few months ago (sneaking under the radar in the sport section):

Quote:
WHAT A WAY TO TREAT THE YOUNG
Inspired by the London Olympics, the nation is being urged to become fitter, healthier and more active. The Government is pledged to attack the scandal of sedentary, overweight youngsters. If caught early, then they may become the sportsmen and women of the next generation.
And what is the contribution of London's Tory-controlled Wandsworth Council to this admirable objective? Why, it has decided to charge children £2.50 per head for using the adventure playground in Battersea Park at weekends.
A 'council spokesman' explained that weekends were terribly busy and that 'research has shown that half of those attending come from other parts of London'. As if they were intrusive aliens instead of playful children.
Difficult to know if this move is motivated by greed, ignorance or doctrinaire stupidity. No matter.
These municipal buffoons will have to be brought into line. Today would not be too soon.
