Marriage is an artificial institution and one that was invented by men to legally own women. Things have changed over the centuries and now there's some measure of equality.

Human nature is for men to shag anything moving that has a pulse, preferably a woman whose physique suggests child bearing potential like wide hips and full breasts. It is human nature for women too choose the fittest looking alpha male to mate with but not necessarily the same male to help raise the children. It is society ie religion and those who control other people's lives who invented the institution of marriage not some God-given human nature towards which we are naturally attracted.

However their adversaries are homophobic. Although, homophobia is a bad word as it conflates people, with medical phobias, with bigots. That said we all understand that homophobia is 'sick' in its own way. The double standard of not allowing gays the same rights as heterosexuals is 'sick'.

Logic deals with truths and not opinions. Dumbass.




Because that is not true. I have yet to hear a liberal suggest that we should only allow gay marriage while outlawing heterosexual marriage.

So calling a liberal a heterophobe would be a slur, however calling someone a homophobe because they oppose gay marriage is a statement of fact.

This article has also been dissected on the 'Gay bashing' thread. One key point being that Homophobia is not a phobia in the way that Agoraphobia or Ailurophobia are (i.e. triggering some sort of involuntary physical or psychological reaction), but is rather a convenient and effective name for an attitude.
