To be fair to the Sun and the Mail, Roy has committed a heinous crime.

He is GUILTY of not being 'Arry 'Triffic' Redknapp who was the manager of choice of EVERYONE in the country. Even those who have no interest in football.

And not just because the press have spent all season telling them that either... No... Erm....

Shoulda been 'Arry, cos his experience in driving Southampton and Pompey to financial ruin and taking spurs to the title... Erm... Second.... Oh... Third? Fourth? Crikey.... Erm, yes.. Anyway, much better than 'Woy' and his silly little CV of international success.

You know he didn't even get Liverpool to the champs league. Dalgleash is showing him up for how useless he is!

Oh.

Yeah that Woy and his forrin languages (probably including Urdu).
Too clever by half, (and probably a poof as well, you know these clever blokes).
You can't trust a bloke like that.

from wiki:

Quote:
The Owl has ingested a special serum which enabled him to naturally glide for short distances, though he has to leap from a height of at least 20 feet (6.1 m) off of the ground to do so. He is able to perform complex mid air maneuvers while he glides which would be impossible for ordinary humans. The Owl's gliding ability is assisted by a weak psionic ability to levitate his body. Under the right conditions, such as favorable air currents, the Owl can glide for at least the length of a city block. He uses specially designed capes to allow him to do this.

His bones are hollow, and he possesses a greater proportionate muscle mass than normal. Though the Owl only exercises moderately, his strength, endurance, resistance/resiliency to injury and fatigue, and reflexes/reaction are enhanced as a result of his mutation (he is physically stronger and tougher than any Olympic weight lifter). His vision and hearing are superhumanly acute, his head can rotate 180 degrees, and his eyes can move independently of each other in their own sockets and have greater visual range than an ordinary human. His teeth and nails are essentially fangs and talons which can tear through human flesh with relative ease

Ideal qualities for today's modern game , and although owls are a symbol of wisdom, they have relatively small brains.

But can he throw himself theatrically to the floor as the merest hint of the presence of an opponent a la Ashley Young.

DM not averse to a bit of smut when it suits them, seeking out and quoting "less racy" comments that might not have got past their own comment moderators - I haven't seen this tape but whatever could they be referring to?

Quote:
Some of the less racy remarks included: 'Tulisa disappointed me, not once did she slap the mic on her face.'

And: 'Good luck to Tulisa..she's had it hard recently and had a lot to swallow #BGT.'

Not only that, but:

The idea that your face could be used to read your mind – and that how you looked in a photo could determine your fate – fascinated and horrified me.

This is what Mail journalists are paid to do for a living.

It's a widespread belief, because it's been around so long, certainly from the classical world, and seen so often in Shakespeare. It's to do with ideas of order and chaos. I'm sure it resonates strongly even today.

Yes, I do it myself. I was referring, somewhat glibly, to the sidebar articles where it's speculated that a celebrity "appears to be the worse for wear" or "must be pining for her ex" on the basis of a single crappy paparazzi photo. The Mail's hacks must be delighted with the Shakespeare comparison!

It's all part of the Human Soap Opera - people aren't seen as people but as characters (or caricatures) and their role is to fulfil one of a set number of predetermined storylines.

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts...

Ironically, thinking that you can tell what someone is thinking simply by looking at them, i.e. mind reading, is a cognitive distortion.

It doesn't help a mentally ill person, or a non mentally ill one for that matter, has judgments made about them by a mad person with power.

Mail moaning about civil servants working from home during the Olympics.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2144513/London-2012-Olympics-Civil-servants-work-home.html

I wonder how many times Richard Littlejohn has set foot in the Mail's newsroom in the last 6 months?

Think this is the right place to put this as I cannot find a things that make u go hmmmmm thread.

If this had been a story where the sexes were reversed, or god forbid the nationalities I can guarantee the piece would be very different. It seems nice white middle class woman and the word peadophile are not compatible in Mail land.
