Is it a 'technicality' though?

If she was 17, and paying for sex in France isn't against the law, all the players have done is have sex with a girl over the age of consent (15 in France) and paid for sex with someone they had no reason to assume was under the legal age for selling sex.

Had no money changed hands, it would have been perfectly legal.
Had the girl been a few months older, it would have been legal.
She was the only person knowingly breaking the law.

Could lead to an interesting line in blackmail. Get a few willing 17 year old girls to work for you and tell people to keep on paying to avoid prison.

That said, you've probably got to feel sorry for anyone who has had to endure Ribery's cum face at close quarters...
