The judge who the DM was trying to persuade that Gordon Taylor had no defamation case was unimpressed.

£20,000 couldn't be going to a better home!

Shame there isn't a fine payable to the exchequer for "cat fight" crap. Fights between men, that's totally different.

Daily Mail and Sun fined £15k for contempt of court

Quote:
Publishers of the Daily Mail and the Sun have been fined £15,000 each for contempt of court photographs of a defendant in a murder trial, holding a firearm, were published online.

The publishers of both newspapers were found guilty of contempt in March, after being taken to court by the attorney general, in a case believed to be the first of its kind given the online form of publication.

Yesterday the Attorney General's Office announced that in making the costs judgement the judges said "both newspapers have now taken steps to avoid repetition and apologised".

"They accepted that the publications were the result of a genuine mistake," the announcement says, adding the publishers were also required to pay the attorney general's costs of £28,117.

First picture: The 'party girl' nurse arrested on suspicion of murdering three patients after saline drips were spiked with deadly insulin

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/artic ... urder.html

So how do they justify this then in the light of that ruling?

After the Chris Jefferies debacle, let's hope they hold off on the character assassinations until some hard evidence (or preferably a court verdict) comes out.

Does "Party Girl" imply loose morals and improper behaviour? Heaven forbid shagging and drinking!

You can tell she's a dodgy character, she appears to occasionally enjoy herself.

Oh for fuck's sake. I bet they've been rubbing their hands with glee about this. Nice of GMP to release her name before she's even been charged of an offence. I hope she's found innocent, just to make them and the NMC look like a bunch of cunts for naming her.

Bit of free publicity and an angsty photo by DM phtographer for that actor no one's heard of before too.

Clearly they've learnt nothing from the sage of Joanna Yeates' landlord.

She's got a Facebook account and gets her hair done regularly. Don't bother with a trial, just throw the key away now.

Oh god, I hope her pics are set to private now- if there's one of her and a couple of mates pretend pole dancing or making sexy duck face you can damn well guarantee that it'll make a ginormous two page spread with some hyperbolic waffle about the state of society today, and if she's innocent they sure as hell aren't gonna apologise to her- or anyone else in the photos with her, pixelated or no.

Perhaps they are taking their cue from the case mentioned in Samanfur's post and have learned that a going rate of a poxy £15,000 represents good business for them.
