I'm staggered by the number of comments that have got through on a supposedly moderated thread which blatantly condone and incite attempted murder. It was almost tempting to ring up Plod with a formal complaint.

A few months ago I was cycling on a dedicated cycle path when I was abruptly yanked to a complete halt by a dog's leash which was across the path. It wasn't strung up, the dog was on one end and the owner was holding the other end (it was all but invisible, being a thin black cord which retracted into the handle). The gormless twat of an owner had been ambling up one side of the path and not thought to mind where the dog wandered. The force of the impact yanked the handle from the owner's hand and I ended up tangled in the cord (above the front wheel but below the handlebars) and only stayed upright by chance. Perhaps unsurprisingly the owner's first concern was for the dog, then they wanted to check if the leash was damaged.

I was perceived to be a dangerous lunatic who could have caused real harm. If I hadn't been so stunned I'd probably have smacked them one. :)

The kid was a stupid cunt though, to be fair.

I feel sorry for a perfectly innocent van driver who almost had a death on his conscience.

Umm, sorry: I'd thought the sarcasm/irony (delete according to taste) of my post was obvious! I just loved the idea of homogenising the philosophy and jurisprudence of a fairly large continental landmass into a unity.

'Cos all "Asians" is the same, innit?

But of course you were at fault: first rule of the road (which includes cycle paths, of course) is that all cyclists are by definition always at fault, wherever and whenever found.

Ive usually find that it's never, ever the cyclist or bikers fault, and you should anticipate that they are going to run that red light, undertake at speed, swerve into the middle of the road for no reason or narrowly miss you on the pavement - and get out of the way or they'll hurl a volley of abuse at you.

I knew it wasn’t tulips or cheese in that suitcase. But I had no choice. They were going to kill my son

I don't claim to know the ins and outs of this case, but the compassion on hand is rather odious. Yes, she admits to knowing her luggage wasn't clean but she claims for a noble cause. I can't claim to substantiate it nor can Mail readers but they've already passed judgement.

Quote:
During our interview she switches from despair to anger. Describing her treatment, she says: ‘They have breached my human rights. Don’t I have any human rights in Bali? Is it OK to tie someone to a chair and put a gun to their head?

‘Is it OK to wake me up every half an hour so that I would be tired when they interrogated me?’

She has spoken to several lawyers, including one who said her fate would depend on how much money she could raise to bribe the police and judges.

‘But I don’t have any money. My lawyer says my defence will cost around £32,000. Where am I going to get that sort of money from?

‘I’ve got one change of clothes. I’m not allowed to wear trousers – it has to be shorts – but I don’t have any because in India I wear trousers.
‘I know what I did was wrong but what choice do you make? I wish I had never done it but my boys’ lives were threatened.'

‘I am in solitary confinement because another prisoner who spoke good English heard about a threat to slit my throat.

'There is a horrible toilet covered in mosquitoes. They keep forgetting to feed me or bring me water. The others are having pizzas and decent food sent in.

Sleep deprivation is recognised as torture by the UN. Such allegations need investigating. Guilty or otherwise.

Don't believe a word of it.............she knew what she was doing, and now she'll pay. No sympathy from me. And as for her 'human rights', well, perhaps she should have thought of that before drug smuggling. Tough.

Same old story ''I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS CARRYING '' no sympathy, you knew too well what you were getting into, and as for those sons sorry all tard to the one brush, young people are killing themselves because of the likes of YOU !!!!

That doesn't make any sense.

If she's being treated that badly, why has she been allowed to give an interview to a DM journalist?

DM readers have reached a verdict, she must be shot ! Save a trial and Lawyers and all that.

If new evidence comes to light later on, well mistakes do happen.

What a load of baloney. Most sons have very little relationship or time for their fathers. As for the saddo that wrote the above, did he never think of writing the letter to his father when he was alive?. Bet he like most sons had no relationship with his father and is hoping against statistical hope that somehow his own sons will actually like him.
