Steve,

The Mail is the paper of choice for those with a pessimistic bent who like to blame their own shortcomings on others.

Oh yeah!

bluebellnutter, you being banned is strange because I'm doing my level best to see how far I can go and they're all getting through.

What's more I'm using both my "names" with the one registration, email address and password. The cookie on my PC seems to remember the last name I put in.

Curious, when did it appear? I've been looking all day. Maybe I'm just paranoid, must stop reading the Mail

I've managed somehow to get the same post up three times (Stan Breadvan). One is 21 in the green, one is 5 up and one is 9 in the red. Same comment. Go figure...

I like the Muppet theme, though. Kudos for that.

John Smith. What is "Nu-Labours"? Some kind of patented innovative birth system? And what harm has it done to the USA?

Or is it humour? For once we have an interesting piece of news in the Daily Mail and this is your best shot? Because it's even less funny than Richard Littlejohn. That's how funny it isn't.

This is probably of little interest to most Mail Online readers who are more eager to know which nightclub Lilly Allen went to last night.

'Kin hell! Have you seen how many comments are from the USA? They're mostly arguing with each other about religion.

Typically brainless comments from people who (a) haven't read the article and (b) think what local authorities do is all the fault of NuLieBour, so some excellent opportunities for showing them up.

These war articles give endless opportunities to have a go at the Mail's dismal record:

Guess which owner of which newspaper wrote this to von Ribbentrop in July 1939?

Later: It appears to have gone. How unsurprising!

from the bins story:
Quote:
The Daily Mail's Not in My Front Yard campaign has highlighted the unpopularity of wheelie bins. The multiple fine system is spreading among councils who find it easier to target everyone in a house rather than identify a responsible individual.

from my post in the 'introduce yourself' thread:

Sum up the Mail in 5 words: Not in my back yard

Wasn't far off was I?

On the story about the decapatitated statue:

Bob Blelefeld. Yes we could exist without being in the Europe we pay £45billion a day for the privilege for what. With all there rules and regulations they have bought this Country to its knees,. We would have been better staying with the English Speaking States like Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada ect. I would never consider myself European I am English. The French have never liked Us and the feeling is mutural.

Jacqui, I often wish that your frequently expressed great love of England and the English extended to some kind of control over its beautiful language. Never mind, I expect it was Labour's fault. Or was it the French?
