Is it terribly cynical of me to be suspicious of the quality of that 'spontaneous video' and the heavy references to Microsoft? Surely the Mail wouldn't be printing some kind of PR plug for one of them mind-rotting computer games, particularly one that features that foul Jezebel Rihanna, who corrupted the nation's youth by whoring around on the X Factor.

Quote:
The boy is 100 per cent in sync with the computer game character on the screen and never fails to miss a beat.

Fail

The words "beating" and "boy" of course can in no way be construed as a euphemism for what some of the deeper-voiced Mail readers might have done upon seeing said images of Rihanna pracing around.

Today's cut-n-paste job -

Ole, Ole, Olay! Stampede expected as scientifically proven £45 anti-wrinkle range goes on sale in the UK

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/beaut ... z1PzbIQ5BP

Wasn't sure where to put this as the URL could easily go into the spelling mistakes thread

Prefessional bit of journalism there. I think this one deserves a bit of further analysis as to what constitutes "scientific proven", might see if anyone over at Bad Science is on the case...

The Mail Online's showbiz editor has just retweeted Jordan's note thanking them for their puff piece promoting her latest TV prog:

If anyone has a strong stomach, I'd recommend checking out the Twatter blather emanating from the super soaraway Mail Online showbiz team, just to get an idea of the sheer intellectual power it takes to copy and paste the constant stream of press releases and pap snaps that get sent their way -- oops, sorry, I mean to go out and investigate and then write up valuable original news content that generates all those millions of page hits.

@d_mcconnell
@sarahembull
@AndreaMagrath
@missgeorgieann
@sarahfitzm
@jessiesatherley
@NadzMendoza

They seem to get sent a lot of freebies from cosmetics and food companies, but I don't have the time or inclination to follow up just how many brand names then get a mention in puff pieces in the paper/on the site.

You can't convince me that's not a reject from the teddy bear production line - in a dressing gown.

Workplace ‘spy’ could end fun for Facebook addicts

"Facebook addicts who log on during work, beware. Revolutionary software previously restricted mainly to police forces and corporations is now available to small and medium-sized businesses."

No comments allowed, presumably after they realised this sort of software has been openly available for years. Next week: Commodore release 64 computer, power hitherto only available to everybody.

What fresh hell is this?

Can someone explain this to me? Am I just a joyless bastard?

How would that make you want to be involved with that company? I'd rather eat my own shit with a spoon. Am I missing something here? A hideously kitsch children's toy is how you lure people in?

I always thought the shtick about the infantilisation of society was a plausible metaphor. Why would anyone old enough to need car insurance respond to this?

Oh, they will, they will. Look at the success of Readers' Digest and their little gifts, or the insurance companies and their free alarm clocks. Some people would actually part with the cow for a handful of beans.

We're back to 'simples' being a collective noun, aren't we?
