It looks like the excuse for a sub-ed is using a British keyboard but old Leon is not (and he's too thick to find the £).

Out in Florida playing water sports with Littledick, perhaps?

Wonder what Leveson would make of that?

It may seem intrusive or crass but they've done nothing against the code. Those pictures will have been in the public domain - or at least on a publicly accessible website.

I was thinking more about the pointless inclusion of the house price in the title.

Not exactly "high quality journalism", is it?

FMR. It's not just house prices now.
Quote:
The estate agents who sold the property described it as a 'beautifully refurbished' family home with planning permission for a wine store, further bedroom and en suite bathroom.

They wrote: 'This beautifully presented property has a wonderful feeling of space with a wide hallway and stairs, and good sized rooms with lovely high ceilings.

'It enjoys surround sound throughout and benefits from a larger than average garden ideally landscaped for family life.

Sweet Jesus. What a story to start experimenting with self-parody on.

They have now added another half a million to the house price I wonder what brought that change about? I can't believe they are allowing comments on the story while the police are still investigating the circumstances of the deaths.

It's really quite misleading to quote the house price at all; it gives the impression that these are luxury mansions, when really they are fairly bog standard large town houses.

It's relevant in that it allows the readers, many of whom would not be able to afford such a house, to tut and reflect that money doesn’t buy happiness. I suspect there will be a little Schadenfreude in there too somewhere, as these people were clearly not the kind of middle-class that Mail readers identify as (nice suburban semi, caravan in the drive, good but not spectacular wage), but what they’d think of as rich (a currency trader and jewellery designer/stay at home mum) and so the readers can enjoy the misfortunes of the kind of people they both resent and aspire to be. There's also, I think, a feeling that mental illness doesn't happen to people like this because they 'have everything' so why would they get depressed?

Edit: I suspect they added the extra details because they were getting comments pointing out that £1.2million isn't actually that OTT for a 4-bedroom terrace in good nick in a nice part of Wandsworth. Anyway the details of the house are gone again now (as are comments)
