They're seven miles offshore, not on the 'hallowed' beaches. And presumably it's ok for kids and families to play on the beaches where soldiers died? Or would you like those fenced off for eternity too?

Hasn't this sort of thing been happening ever since the guy who founded NCP bought up bomb sites cheaply after the war, did a bit of bulldozing and
charged people to park their cars on them.

I for one can't think of a more fitting tribute. Those men fought and died so that we could have a better future; these windfarms will protect us from fluctuations in fossil fuel prices and help to stop catastrophic climate change, which is FACT according to the overwhelming majority of the world's scientists... only opposed by those funded by polluters like exxon mobil

Nothing new about this ritual, and nothing horrific. I have a friend who was in the SAS in Malaya in the 1950's and they used to cut the thumbs off each terrorist they shot, put them all in a bag and take them back to base to show how many they had got rid of. As regards being a sickening act, it would pale beside what would happen to one of our boys if they were taken alive, they do not deserve respect dead or alive

The media should stay out of this, Its a matter for the Army to deal with and it does nothing but give the enemy an excuse. Do we really need to know this and be reminded of so called UK atrocities. What is the purpose here? To sell a story? Well sell it in a way that doesn't make the UK look like savages because one guy has collected fingers. BIG DEAL!!! Its war, read a book or two on any war and this wouldn't even be news...

Don't see the problem here. If these people want to play big boys rules, this is what can happen. I know from personal experience, that during the Rhodesian bush-war, many soldiers had the ears of terrorists they'd killed hanging from the rear view mirror of their private cars. I have zero sympathy for those trying their damnedest to kill our troops, especially so when some of them desecrate, burn, and then publicly parade their bodies. Tell it to someone who cares.
