Presumably a joke.

Caps? Ellipses? Lousy grammar and spelling?

Either a joke or a halfwit. I too suspect the former, since - against my expectations - 'disheartened' was spelled right.

Here's a tricky one:

End of the roaming rip-off: EU orders phone firms to HALVE cost of using internet abroad

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... z1R8NoXjn1

Mobile phone costs to halve - sorry, HALVE - but it's all thanks to the EU. Christ, that'll make their heads explode while they try to work out how they feel.

Only chavs use mobile phones, as you'll know if ever you've sat by a businessman on a train.

So probably the EU win this.

This one will get spun as:
EU good stuff saves you 15 quid once per year.
EU membership costs every Briton £5,000 very year.

The E.U could set up a scheme to give all members free fruit, vej, cars, laptops and TV's, and Mail readers would probably look at the labels on the packaging and cry how "nothing is made in Britain any more! That's why unemployment is so high!"

I'm absolutely certain they would. Mail readers - looking a gift horse in the mouth, and shooting it with a bolt gun.

The EU made a lot of noise about Britain being ripped off over car prices. Don't know how much effect that had. If it had then there's a bit "our money" back right there.

Curvaceous Cheryl Cole forces EU to cut overpricing.

Police find 'large-scale cannabis cultivation' at country home where clockmaker was arrested for shooting 'burglar' in the leg

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... z1a7vW2raP

Does shooting alleged burglar trump large scale cultivation of cannabis?

I don't know how profitable a watch and clock repair business in Brum is likely to be, but he seems to have made rather a lot of money. I suspect the large scale cannabis cultivation could have more to do with that. Imagine if this was Tooting, we would be hearing about a gun toting drug dealer. Also if Mr White was Mr Black they'd be calling for him to be hung from the nearest lamppost.

I was just thinking, is a retired clockmaker who's growing significant amounts of cannabis really best referred to as a 'clockmaker'. At what point does one become a drug dealer? After one too many trips to the tanning salon?

I think 'proprietor of a money-laundering operation' might be a better description than 'clockmaker'.

Generaly it's down to the age and whiteness (and supposed upstanding-ness in the community) of person involved.

And he shot a chav - he's well safe I'd say.

Wasn't he released without charge as it was considered reasonable self defence? Expect this to be abused fully in the coming year or so.
