Wasn't he released without charge as it was considered reasonable self defence? Expect this to be abused fully in the coming year or so.

Yep. We may well yet see this turned into 'Hard-working businessman forced to grow cannabis by the economic mess left behind by Labour'

No. That was someone who stabbed a burglar with his own knife a few weeks back.
An earlier version of the Mail story said that White repaired antique clocks, church clocks, etc. Probably profitable.

I saw a couple of articles about the clock bloke and he was indeed been hailed as someone previously seen as a pillar of the community. The Express naturaly. I do think he will become the next Mr Martin, the gentleman vigilantie (only a bit richer than a farmer).

He's been charged. As has someone else, but with an odd combination of charges.
Quote:
The other man has been charged with three counts of possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, production of a class B controlled drug (cannabis), aggravated burglary of a dwelling with intent and possessing ammunition for a firearm when prohibited to do so for five years.

'Odd' will sum up the entire case when the full facts emerge.

Normally the charges indicate what the police think happened, but not here.

I'll admit I'm not sure what top trumps are, but I think this goes in here:

Convicted paedophile's trial abandoned after he tells court 'indecent' videos of children were recorded from terrestrial television

Paedo acquitted
— vs —
Too much depraved filth on tv

Since the wank-material was all taken from "films any member of the public could have seen", the more simple-minded of the Mailites blame civilisation:
Quote:
It is telling and deeply frightening that the images came from a so-called 'mainstream' source. It is indicative of just how depraved modern etertainment is becoming.

- Ben Russell-Gough, London, UK, 10/11/2011 10:44 Rating 26

Others are green-arrowed for attacking the judicial system:
Quote:
This is malicious persecution. He should sue for harrassment. To be inprisoned for nine months for watching television is beyond outrageous.

- Trudi, Worcs, 10/11/2011 11:07 Rating 122

The one person with half a brain inevitably gets red-arrowed:
Quote:
What planet are you on Trudi? Each clip is perfectly innocuous in the context of the film it was in. Extract a clip and piece it together with numerous clips from other films and the context of watching them together is changed completely. This time a wierd, sinister context. If you don't understand that there's something wrong with you.

Terrestrial? Wait for it, moving over to the Mail Vs The BBC thread.

All this shows is that images of children don't have to be overtly sexual in adult terms to interest guys like that. This must confuse many Mail readers.

Bloody hell. Does EastEnders (mis)represent anyone at all in anything but the most unlikely and bizarre fashion?

Those seem to have been removed now.
I can see lots of personal abuse aimed at George Michael however.
It seems the Mailities don't hate the BBC half as much as the Mail thinks.

Of course the Mail could never be accused of misrepresenting gay people and are well-placed on the moral high ground to take aim at the BBC.
