Holly Thomas puts out 4-6 showbiz stories a day. At that rate I am assuming that she tops & tails press releases or wire copy, perhaps in this case started by a Tweet by Vorderman followed by a quick Google for quotes. So she just churns 'em out, no attempt at originality, but necessary to feed the ravenous maw that is the Mail Online Showbiz section. Interesting that the punters are starting to notice the cracks, though.

Of themselves these stories do little obvious harm, but they are dragging down a whole generation of journalists.

The trouble is nobody wants to read 'serious' journalism like the Guardian (although frankly the London bias is appalling which is why I never read it anymore), which if not for effectively being subsidised by Autotrader would have gone bankrupt within the last 5 years.

Journalists are part of a business and if the paying customer doesn't like what they provide, they are obliged to give them what they want.

The backlash against the constant use of 'pours her curves' was evidently noted, and after much deliberation (I like to imagination there was some sort of crisis meeting with lots of table thumping), a slightly different way of saying the same thing has emerged.

Miss Venezuela 2002 Aída Yéspica shows she is still at her beauty queen best as she slips her dangerous curves into a tiny bikini

They've even got the accents on her name right. Now that's attention to detail!

It's a macho-fast-car-penis-sustitute thang. "I can handle those dangerous curves (at some speed, too - see preceeding sentence)"

Dangerous is a curious adjective to use for a set of jubblies. Do they bite? I can see how they might be a suffocation hazard for anyone lucky enough to get up close but beyond that...

It makes me suspect that they read this forum. If that's the case, then hi there!

But no accents in the story about the Brontës. No wonder England's heritage is being auctioned off to foreigners.

They spend so long sitting in the shed...erm..."enjoying" the pictures that they don't realise it's got dark and the door has frozen shut. Horny old men with Daily Mail subscriptions freezing to death in their sheds kills literally some people each year (probably).

Incidentally, curves it seems can still be poured - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... beach.html

The Mail can't resist the word, can it? Even in a serious story about problems caused by leaking implants.
