Now the EU orders Britain: Let migrants claim benefits as soon as they arrive in UK

Of course each time 'Now' is used it is meant to mean that another Mail readers privilege is being eroded or taken way..... meaning that the world is becoming.... wait for it.... more equal.....

This is why I know that Mailites want to be lied to, secretly enjoy it and are masters of wilful self-deception. Anyone can see that all of the, "Now this..." and "Now that..." articles are aimed at feeding prejudices and victim complexes.

"NOW you're Anne Frank - and guess whose paying for it", "Now you can't beat your child into blind submission even it the little bastards need a sound thrashing on their pert, tender little buttocks. So pink and fresh", "Now you can't call niggers golliwogs", etc. It presents something eminently sensible as firm proof that their birth-right is being denied.

It strikes me as too direct to count as a dog-whistle but perhaps I' overestimating their readership somewhat?

I guess that mailites need their daily fix of having the biases confirmed to them, which feeds right into their persecution complexes. They think they are more deserving because of their ability to special plead......

What they cannot stand, in reality, is true equality.

I think to an extent it implies their previous articles are all accepted as fact, and "now" we're progressing to something even worse. It's lies built upon lies.

"first the EU tried to regulate banana curviness, and NOW they want to change the colour of stop signs".

The interesting thing about this is that the average mailite thinks that immigrants already get everything handed to them the moment they step foot in the UK. This article implies that they don't, contradicting a number of things they were previously led to believe.

"NOW" is partly the Mail and Express showing their self-righteous, arrogant indignation. "How dare anyone possibly do or say anything different to the way we know it should be done?" Everything is black and white in their world. 100 times out of 100 the stories are not all they seem from the headline but that doesn't matter to them as Gourami says it's basically a dog-whistle.

Fancy the Mail making a the schoolboy error of calling it the Union Jack. I'd have thought on all things patriotic they'd know their stuff. If the BBC referred to it as the Union Jack they'd probably get a whole article out of it.

I love how people get so up-in-arms about the Union Jack/Union Flag thing. It really does not matter....and in any case, I'm sure I read somewhere that it was a fallacy anyway.
