"Berlin Times"? So we no have German newspapers dictating what we can and cannot debate in Parliament?

"Vampire bill"? I never knew that vampires were itching to get out there sucking blood under the convenient cover of darkness at 8 a.m. in wintertime.

My understanding is that Transylvania is an historical region of Romania rather than Germany.

There was once (up until WW2 and Communist era) a large German minority in Transylvania.

But unlike the Sudetendeutsch they were never taken into the reich.
I notice the BBC was referring to CET as 'Paris time'.

And therein lies the rub. CET = Central European Time and that really must be the most benign thing ever in the history of everything unless you think that being on the same time zone as The Other makes you just like them and more than a little too eager when it comes to embracing garlic and man-on-man action.

Rule Britannia...and Portugal...and erm, Nigeria.

End of British summertime as clocks go back... but at least there was an extra hour in bed!
The change came as ministers consider moving clocks forward an hour for a three-year trial.

That would involve adopting Central European Time, with BST plus one hour in summer and GMT plus one in winter.

Somewhere at DM towers there's a folder with stories to rehash on specific days of the year. I imagine there'll be some choice Halloween & bonfire night ones that they do the same to as well.

I wonder why they only bother running this story in winter when there's good clickbait fodder in regurgitating it in spring as well... They're missing a trick there.

Indeed.

Such as the usual predictable shite about bad weather and travel chaos every Bank Holiday.

There's a subtle but all-important change of tone. No longer is it the dark and scary Berlin Time, rather the all-together benign CET. What could possible be wrong with that?

Expect them to be enthusiastically backing a new policy "initiative" by, ooh, Mittwoch.

It's CET when they want to bash the Scots. It's Berlin time when they want to bash other forrins and the EU.

Serious question. What happens with night-shifts when the clocks go back? There must be cases where working an extra hour contravenes working time directives.

Try being tied to time for injections when you're diabetic. And I suspect a thousand other medical considerations.

It's lunacy, I tell you. I'd only just got over being on Normandy Backwwods* time.

I suppose each company has their own rules; their 'clocks' change at the end of the relevant shifts?

Actually, when you start to think about it the time-travelling paradox kicks in. Best not to concern yourself with such matters. Not until the summer, anyway.
