I think Des is a regular there. Either last year or the year before, there was a much-derided online diary posted by some meedja person, who seemed to spend most of the time shuffling between events of this nature. They bumped into Des and Mrs Des at the show.

I'm more bewildered by the ongoing fascination with Amanda Holden. Has she entered into some sort of devil's bargain with Northern & Shell? I mean, OK, she's connected to BGT, and she's blonde and pretty, and she's sort of OK in dramas where she's got a strong script and supporting cast, but she's hardly SEO gold.

I think Holden is one of the celebs that has signed an 'exclusive' deal with OK magazine. Apparently Desmond likes to parade his famous friends through the N&S offices on the rare occasions he drops by.

If the UK had the kind of climate where cactuses could grow in abundance we'd need a hosepipe ban.

Which leads me to think that surely if he wanted to make a joke about the hosepipe ban that appealed to the mail and mail readers, he should have drawn a Japanese water garden?

Well off the mark PT.

Trying to type through tears of laughter. It's all o.k. isn't it? With all that's going on in the world, it's great that we've got an unelected leader who's doing fuck all about anything except lining the pockets of his own kind. Great! Let's all get on the newspeak/soundbite bandwagon and chillax. That's right! We should all be at it. Her-de-har-har! Fucking hilarious.

Why's there a bird watching them? Birds rarely get that close, and if they do it's generally because they're one of those grotesque, mutant pigeons in a city train station.

I've noticed he's been putting these birds (of various species) in most of his cartoons lately. Perhaps he's taken up birdwatching?

I rather think it's the talentless egomaniac equivalent of the Chippendale mouse.

Not mice no. But there are definitely some smuggled budgies.

Yeah, I think he must have read somewhere that other cartoonists always include something (normally hidden) in their work.
But being he, he's not thought it through properly and also because his style's so shit he won't be able to carry it off.

His birds aren't any that you'd see in Britain.

Or, indeed, this planet.
