True, but how many octogenarians would enjoy sitting through a couple of hours of loud pop music finishing late at night?

You have clearly never been out clubbing in Wolverhampton.

D'you know - you're right.

And now, thanks to you, I never shall. 8)

I'm not really following the Olympics, so it might need explaining to me... are the Express advocating that silver medals should be awarded for third place?

Basically one of the Japanese guys dismounted badly, they didn't award him for the dismount at first but did afterwards, apparently it was right due to the experts. Hence the British went from Sliver to Bronze for a team not expected to make the final it was still a great achievement.

Of course the Express journalist (if they have any) probably know about as much as me about the event, I would personally go with that he fucked it up, but I bow to the experts who know this sport, let's face it if the other papers admit they have journalists following events they have little knowledge of then the Express probably just pick opinions off twitter.

I believe that what happened was that initially the Japanese guy was judged to have fallen off the horse and marked down accordingly. The Japanese team appealed and pointed out that what actually happened was that the gymnast screwed up the dismount. This was accepted and the score adjusted accordingly. Obviously falling off loses you more points than a stumbling dismount. This was the difference that put the Japanese team into second place. As far as I'm aware the GB team and officials accepted the process and the final decision.

That headline somewhat annoyed me.. nobody has several wives in the UK (I'm not sure what happens if you have several wives in another country and travel over here.. do we count the first or the last or all of them?).

It's fairly obvious the target group they're pointing the finger at aint the Mormons. It's a headline designed to make you think in a certain way.

The less inflammatory 'household with more people in it eligible for more benefits' would fail the 'no shit sherlock' test, so is probably why they didn't run with it..

Eek, is this on top of the four times that pensions went down in July? Still, over the last four weeks the Express have also revealed the cures for Alzheimer's, blindness and arthritis, as well as how to extend your life by 20 years - so I guess, on balance, it was still a pretty good month for pensioners.

Yup, they're all glowing with health now and ready to get back to work, so they won't need those pensions anyway.
