Don't forget, as far as Mail and Express readers are concerned (or some of them anyway), they can be shot in Iraq and so on as being Asian is a crime

END OF THE ROAD FOR SPEED CAMERAS?

I thought I'd 'light the blue touch paper' with this comment.

Quote:
SPEED CAMERAS ARE GREAT

I think speed cameras are a great invention. Even if they don't contribute to road safety they reduce my tax burden because of the people who do get caught by them, having to pay fines for speeding. It's an entirely avoidable fine but if you think you're above the traffic laws then you shouldn't be on the road!

Now stand well back and watch the fireworks!

It is a Daily Mail dilemma. Speed cameras reduce taxes for law abiding people! Surely it's the perfect solution?

They'll never believe you're for real. Apostrophes in the right places and only single exclamation marks.

Also is it just me or does the photo of 'a vandalised speed camera sign' they've used to illustrate this story...

Image

look more like a badly photoshopped road sign?

If I were a vandal or graffitt artist I'd sue for defamation of character for that

it's quite a tidy summary of the express to just read the list of the articles they're allowing comments on - not the articles so much as the way the headlines are phrased...

Quote:
•Is Labour incapable of ensuring our safety?
•Are community sentences a joke?
•Is Brown Britain's worst ever Prime Minister?
•Are our roads a national disgrace?
•Has Britain's justice system gone to pot?
•Should preachers of hate be kicked out of Britain?
•Should British rules be changed for other faiths?
•Would you buy off ebay while it's selling these?
•Do we need more police back on our streets?
•Should MPs be allowed to vote to keep their lavish expenses?
•Should British troops be merged into an EU army?
•Should the EU Treaty now be scrapped?

Depends entirely what "these" are. If they're weird and immoral, almost certainly. Unless it's some kind of life-like Maddie sex doll, in which case I'd probably be out-bid by Express readers.

BROWN IS ON HOLIDAY BUT NOW HE SHOULD PACK HIS BAGS FOR GOOD

Yet another piece of tedious obnoxiousness from Leo McKinstry. No email address for him so I have posted what I think on the have your say feature.

Quote:
BROWN MAY BE A DUD

29.07.08, 1:59pm

but he's better at his job than you are at yours, Leo. You are possibly the most negative and obnoxious journalist I have come across and you never have a good word to say about anything.

Get a real job!

Just going back a little to the speed camera story, I have found this hidden gem...

Quote:
Speed does,n kill, if that was the case everyone on an aircraft would be dead after 5 minuets

There you go. Thats you all told. Probably.

I think he's onto something.

Challenger was doing at least 750mph when it broke up.
