This could be interesting - The People allegedly makes up a story about Charlotte Church and features it prominently in the newspaper; when CC complains, they run an apology but because the paper neither gave the apology due prominence or explained how it came about, the libel case is continuing.
The apology is quite pathetic:

"On November 6, 2011, we said Charlotte Church had proposed marriage to Jonathan Powell at a boozy karaoke night at the Robin Hood pub in Cardiff. We were misinformed.
On the night in question Ms Church and Mr Powell were performing a gig at studios in Pentyrch, Cardiff and Ms Church did not propose that night or at all.
We are happy to set the record straight and we apologise for our mistake."
That's all right then. I think if I was Charlotte, I may want a bit more of an explanation.
