I was reading the Mail TV magazine and was amused to find a sentence about a comedian that read: "[He] seems to think he can base a career on 'jokes' about being 'ginger'".

So now it's not just things like 'homophobia' and 'racism' getting the quote marks treatment but 'ginger' too. Have ginger people ceased to exist or something? Perhaps the Mail arranged a holocaust for them whilst the rest of us weren't looking.

Ha! The scare quotes do give the impression they doubt whether being ginger is a proper concept.
