I heard that if they catch you using religious morality to influence legislature they cut your hands off. Harsh, but fair.

If any of this is true I will lose a lot of respect for the Sikhs involved, what kind of an arsehole do you have to be to find common-cause with a bunch of racist thugs?
Of course it won't be the first time they've been duped by the far-right.

My grandfather maintained that the reason the Sikhs worked so well with the British during the Raj was because both groups were delighted to meet another group just as intolerant and prejudiced as themselves...

and the my-enemy's-enemy-is-my-friend mantra.

I once saw a docu-drama in which two IRA men in 1940 were debating whether to join the British army. In the end they went for it as they reckoned that, on balance, a United Ireland was more likely to be delivered by the British than the Third Reich. It was very interesting and I'd like to see it again, I wish I could remember what it was called.

Surely that would be a friendly fire incident?

They're very keen on their faux military organisations, arent they?

The Yorkshire EDL Leeds Division, for example.

So they like the military, and want to defend England. If only there was some organisation they could join...

Have you seen the state of them? They'd be laughed out of the medical.
And that's assuming they could find someone to fill in the application forms for them.

Not to mention the psychological assessment.

Quite. It's a myth that the armed forces fight for Queen and country, that's just for formal occasions. From day one of their training it's all about looking after your mates, meaning your platoon or, by extension, your company, regiment etc etc up to and including all British forces.
But really it's about you and your mates, whatever their race or creed.

There are a few threads on the Army rumours service along these lines.

Discussing some "servicemen's branch" they'd met on a high street, the regulars were struck by 2 main things.
1. The utter muddle of bits of uniforms and badges: They reckoned it was a mixture of guys who'd done 3 weeks in the TA and football hooligans who'd gone down the local surplus shop.
2. The Ranks (Helpfully written on their parkas), fistfulls of colonels, majors and captains, not one sod as lowly as a corporal.

Not EDL but we don't seem to have a dedicated BNP thread.

BNP activist could face jail after chasing 11-year-old boys
Unusually for the far-right his motive for chasing 11-year-old boys was violent rather than sexual. Having tried and failed to run them over he slashed their bike tyres with a Stanley knife because he thought they had been cheeky. How very fucking brave.
